I really liked ETH’s post-match interview, extremely determined, none of that folksy ‘the lads did well’ stuff that Ole used to serve up.
In any case, we’d have still had Harold as CM under Ole & would’ve lost!

The guy is a legend but fuck me Ronaldo was disgraceful today. Couldn’t have made it clearer that he’s no interest in being here. Sign Antony or Gapko and get him out. It’s ludicrous that it’s been allowed to fester so long. TBF between one of the glazers wanting him to stay and no one being interested, it's been a hard one. Regardless of what the manager says I think it's safe to say he would really like the player to leave before the window closes |

It's going to be a big end of window for us and the issues to move on to the next level are obvious, everyone can see it. Good job from ETH in arresting the shit show start and complacency though.

I think it is reassuring that our defence already looks a lot better than last season. Varane and Martinez are easily the best CB pairing we've had since Rio and Vidic. Malacia looks a lot more reliable than Shaw. And I think under Erik's coaching Dalot can do a job for us even if we don't wind up buying another RB. And of course Casemiro will soon be shielding our defence. So I think we will concede far fewer goals this season.
Problem is I also see us scoring far fewer goals this season. If Ronaldo leaves we won't really have a reliable goal scorer. Rashford did a good job against Liverpool as a number 9 but I do not see him as a 20 goal a season striker. Sancho had incredible stats in the German league but Premier League teams are much better defensively and seem to find it easy enough to neutralize him. Even if Antony comes he is more of a creator than a goal scorer. So I think we will be left hoping that Bruno can manage a hot streak like he did when he first arrived at the club.

I often find myself wondering how McTominay gets away with some of the stuff he does. But not today. Pretty funny seeing the reaction to the handball incident. I don't even see how that one is controversial.

Decent win.
Defensively we're rebuilding the confidence we lost under Cupped ears Maguire. The guys are still shaky but that's mostly down to not having a shield which Casemiro will remedy. There's a bit of quality there now and it's beginning to show,if Varane ,Malacia & Martinez stay fit we have a real chance for a deep run in the cups and a place in the top 6. Provided that we buy a striker.

CF is the issue. Rashford isn't the solution. Martial can't stay fit. Ronaldo doesn't want to be here. And while our defence does look a lot more solid and will benefit massively from having Casemiro as a shield I think we still concede goals and I worry we don't have enough firepower to compensate for that.
Ten Hag has his heart set on a winger and Antony in particular. But if Ronaldo does not want to be here and cannot be relied on then I think we need to buy Osimhen and send Ronaldo on loan the other way. We can go back in for Antony next summer when Ajax will hopefully be a bit more reasonable.

Bruno’s goal was wonderful,made by Rashford’s run and pointed out by ETH, if only Dalot could defend as well as he can whip a ball in, i SO want him to be better.
Best of all was ‘Little Licha’ utterly brilliant!

It was a tough game, like most have said, we look toothless upfront. Crying for a proper CF, Rashford is just not it.
