From what I've been reading, it's almost as if we've stumbled upon an ideal partner for Casemiro given his additional energy/defensive input compared to Eriksen. Ideally, if we then get Eriksen back for the last couple of months of the season, we'd have no reason to play McTominay at all.

Yeah I think he could end up being an upgrade on Eriksen in terms of overall contribution. The main issue will be replacing Eriksen's assists and we will really need Bruno and Sancho/Antony to step up in that regard.
But if we get this over the line then it is a massive boost and should keep us on track for a top 4 finish and a domestic cup.

Eriksen has been a solid 8 every game, and his passing is sublime. always in space, never ruffled. The guy at Barca would have been the natural rotation option for Eriksen, had he decided to leave. Though I'm familiar with this Austrian, I've not seen enough to say if he'll be an upgrade. Sounds promising for sure, but Eriksen has been tops for me, a slight 2nd to Casemiro for best addition to the squad. |

Still want Mainoo to get some gametime though. Him and Sabitzer (experience and young talent).
Could do with the same plan in the summer for Casemiro.
Once Eriksen is back I'd like him competing with Bruno at no.10. As much as I liked Donny, I think that ship sailed.
