This is partly on Erik. You can sympathise with his decision to stick with a winning team/tactics and reward players that have been in good form. But there is no room for sentiment in football and against a team as imperious as City you need to set up with a team and tactics that has a chance of nicking a draw or at the least making it difficult for them. Managers like Jose and Tuchel overdo the dark arts and negative football but sometimes you need to deploy them. It is was very naive to think we could set up the way we did against Liverpool and Arsenal and get a result against City who are far better in every department. And we definitely should have tried to get Casemiro ready for this game and even if Ronaldo isn't at his best and short of match fitness at least he would have given us a bit more of a focal point upfront and given City something to fear about.

Hope Martial starts up top every time now he’s back.

I can’t see a time in the future when we will be competitive again. Doesn’t matter what we spend, we can’t seem to get it right for reasons I just don’t understand. How is it this difficult? It's because it does not matter if you sign genuinely good players when you persist with proven shit around them. Casemiro doesn't start ahead of McTominay for fuck sake. We started the season with Martinez having to attempt to carry the Cunt. Shaw still here, Lindelof, Rashford, Fred. The list is endless.

Yeah I think Martial CF and Rashford LW and Sancho on the bench as an impact sub. If Martial cannot stay fit and Ronaldo cannot re-integrate himself into the team then January we need to buy Gakpo and then in the summer line up Osimhen.

One off purchases are not going to save us. Saying thst it would be nice for us to have a top striker.
Our buying policy has been dog shit for years. Gone are days where if we were short in a possition we went and bought the best player in that possition not some has been or never heard of
That's down to the club and the owners. We will never win the league again till the glazers go.
GLAZERS OUT

They took their feet off the gas a bit as good teams will do when they know they've already won and have nothing to prove. Still nice for Martial to get a few goals. I just wish he could stay fit and have a proper run in the side.

Game was over after they scored their second and at 4-0 I was dreading a 8 or 9 nil.
6-3 I will take that

Ole spent £80M on Maguire, £75M on AWB, £50M on AWB. Jose was forced to spend £50M on Fred because Glazers had cut him off and Woodward thought that beating City to Fred was some kind of coup. It is spending money badly that has been the problem. Ten Hag did pretty well in his first window (not his fault that Murtough's terrible negotiating tactics meant we had to overpay for Martinez and Antony) but we need to keep backing him because it will take a few seasons to build a good team and even then we will need to wait for De Bruyne to show his age and Haaland to piss off to Real Madrid to stand a chance of getting one over City.

We started the season with Martinez having to attempt to carry the Cunt. Shaw still here, Lindelof, Rashford, Fred. The list is endless. I think the biggest issue is what we pay these pricks. They have a bad game, they just get on with their lives when they get home. There is no desire to win titles and get improved, highly salary contracts because they are already on sky high salaries. Probably why 95% of the squad show zero desire when they’re on the pitch. There is zero consequence after a result like today or a season like last year. They had a reduction in salary last year because they didn’t get into the CL but salaries are still higher than what they’d get elsewhere.
