Have to say, I’d be more than happy to give Donny some benefit of the doubt if he’d at any stage shown even a glimpse of being able to do something remotely well. He’s done less than Elanga. Actually winning trophies - including League titles and getting to European Cup semi-finals both of which we haven't seen for almost decade doesn't count? Winning the Dutch league with Ajax isn’t exactly a high bar. Neither is choking vs spurs in a semi final. |

Aye and he's played under 2 managers since and produced nothing. Only so much can be blamed on a manager we sacked 12 months ago. He's played under a waster and a bluffer. The last time he played well was under the manager we have right now. Some lazy frauds get a pass for season after season of incosistent dross from people. So I'm willing to give van der Beek the benefit of the doubt for at least this season. And I'd love nothing more than to see him produce what he did at Ajax. Unfortunately I just don't see it happening from what we've seen of him so far. |

I don’t think he’s reinvented the wheel and our league position is more a reflection on how poor the league is right now because let’s be honest we’re a 10th-6th team. |

No. They had Tadic ripping it up over there, he was patchy at best for Southampton. It’s just a different level. If you turn up here and look to have no special quality whatsoever about you, then I couldn’t give a shite how many trophies you won earlier in your career. He’s been a disaster buy. |
