Just watched the full game on Sky GOTD.
Awful first few minutes,where we appeared to be fast asleep dreaming of Unicorns -the commentator noted how we hadn’t turned up ,ie with the pre-match warm-up drills being nonchalant ,whilst Forest were pulling up trees in theirs-pun intended.
Dalot was played out of position -but coped well enough that Erik left him on,Martial (probably ) gets a pass as he’s not played for a while although only just ,Onana might have done better for the first goal in terms of racing out instead of leaving it for Rashford ,really good to see Eriksen with a goal and 100 minutes under his belt too.
Martinez ,Varane,Vic and Sancho -when they came on ,standout player was Bruno and (for me) AWB ,who seemed to be everywhere!
Tekkers of the day(for me again )was Martinez ,who trapped a high ball and passed it forward almost in one moment -absolutely brilliant .

A wins a win but we all know deep down that we got lucky quite a few times. For me, the players are forever starting games in a lacklustre fashion. Why can't they start a game with a positive mindset instead of having to rescue every game we play. Against the likes of city, once you're 2 down after 4 minutes, you don't get back into it. Complacency is rife, why was Rashford on the halfway line for that goal?

And this is after ETH is supposed to have given them a stern talking to after the Spurs shocker, where was the defence for the first goal? and where were they for the second?
Heads firmly up backsides, Bruno thankfully got us the win but theres so many bad bits to that performance considering we were at home to Forest.

A wins a win but we all know deep down that we got lucky quite a few times. For me, the players are forever starting games in a lacklustre fashion. Why can't they start a game with a positive mindset instead of having to rescue every game we play. Against the likes of city, once you're 2 down after 4 minutes, you don't get back into it. Complacency is rife, why was Rashford on the halfway line for that goal? agreed. We’ve been lucky that we played wolves and forest. Had we played 2 half decent teams at home we’d be on 0 points and a GD of at least -7 after 3 games. |

If the midfield isn’t fixed this week we are looking at 6th or 7th in the league I reckon. Our options are dreadful there and you cannot compete unless yo7 have some sense of parity in the middle of the park. |

This is getting ridiculous now- Forest supposedly planning to make a complaint about Atwell’s performance yesterday. Why, exactly? The red card was 100% correct as was the penalty.

Well we saw 2nd half at least that Casemiro Eriksen and Bruno is still our best midfield.
Casemiro may just be having a slow start to the season. So I think when he gets back to his best it will make a massive difference and paper over a lot of the cracks in midfield.
Mount isn't a central midfielder. But he is probably adaptable and intelligent enough to grow into the role and do a job for us there.
Eriksen is a better option in central midfield for now and will hopefully demonstrate that while Mount is injured so that Mount has to earn his place in the team. My main concern with Eriksen is he doesn't have the legs for the big games and if Casemiro looks sluggish the way he did in the first few games that midfield pairing starts looking very lightweight.
I don't see us buying anyone. So maybe it is a case of hoping that last season's midfield of Casemiro Eriksen and Bruno can do a job for us for the next few months and after that either Mount adapts to his new role or Mainoo makes an instant impact when he is fit again.
Just very frustrating when for £30m we could get either Amrabat or Gravenberch and they could slot in next to Casemiro and give our midfield the refresh it needs and allow us to manage Casemiro and Eriksen's minutes to keep them fresh.

In fairness if we beat them soundly the way we did on 4 occasions last season they wouldn't be making spurious complaints.

He isn’t sluggish, he is being overrun because he has no partner in midfield…
Mount is looking like a fish out of water and no help at all…
Put Eriksen in and you can see the difference…
