VDB was such a weird signing even for us. There were reports Ole was interested in Declan Rice.
Its likely a case of Murtough and co saying yeah we cant afford Rice, it's either Van de beek or no one.

VDB signing came about because the deal with Real Madrid fell through. Presumably his agent offered him to us. And the idiots in charge figured it was a real coup signing a Real Madrid target with no consideration as to how he would fit into the team or adapt to English football.
Sancho was apparently driven by Murtough et al as well. Ole apparently wanted Grealish.
I assumed when Woodward took a step down and stopped interfering with transfers things would improve. But Murtough is just as bad if not worse.

Take a look at our front 3 against WHU yesterday
Garnacho - Hojlund - Antony
is that even a top 4 team material?? even WHU have better front 3 atm. and crazy thing is that we actually spent 150m on 2 players from that line up. awful recruitment and reeks of corruption.

Calling him shit is a bit short sided seeing he is the least services striker in the PL... no one can score under those conditions. 100%. Erik really needs to get tough with the players. If they don't follow instructions they should be subbed and benched.
Players knew with managers like Jose and Fergie that if you got on their bad side you'd get frozen out regardless of status. Our current squad of players clearly don't feel that way as they are serving up shit performances every week and it took months for Erik to bench Rashford and he still hasn't woken up to the reality that we are a much better team without Bruno and there are multiple players more deserving of gametime than Antony.

Would be surprised if we spent any money in January. If SJR has any sense he'd be wary of trusting Erik's judgement and wait until we have a proper recruitment team that can cast a wider net rather than just going with the Low Countries.
