He can score which we've seen in the CL so I'm not really concerned with that. Just hope he's not injured. The lad was just unlucky with his chances. It's probably the first league game he's played where he's actually had more than one chance. He puts in the effort though which is more than can be said for the rest of our attacking players with the exception of Bruno. Garnacho needs to be making better decisions. Seems to impact the game more coming off the bench. We need a central midfielder in Jan. Eriksens legs aren't there anymore, Casemiro is either injured or is off the boil and Mount and Amrabat just aren't it. Our midfield is a mess and needs seriously upgrading. I think it’s the first league game in the last six where we’ve created a chance for him. I think they’ll come, he’s looked clinical in Europe but you don’t get the same amount of time in the box in the league.

As soon as he does he'll bang them in. Decent players around him and he'd be in double figures by now. Far too many selfish players that want to go it alone.

TBF, he actually creates more chances for his wingers/Midfielders than they create for him

The forwards can't buy a goal, even against the team that's conceded the most away goals in the league and won just 1 game. There was some decent play and even Antony should have had a lovely assist. (Hojlund's overall work and form in Europe is very encouraging)
1 goal from the forwards from an average of about 15 games in the PL between them( Rashford is 1 goal in 18 games now?) is complete and utter shite. I mean it's a fairly stark and amazing stat for a club like ours. It's unreal we are still this close to it all in points, but then you look at who we have beaten and played. We have lost to every difficult fixture and scraped wins against the worst teams in the league. It gets a lot tougher in December, so they need to start making it easier.
If we are this close or better by the Jan International break then it would be excellent, as we should have a fully fit first choice squad then. I just doubt we will be close by then with our forwards, but hoping for a massive improvement.

Wrong place for it but if there any doubt of media bias against us you can see how the media have treated Spurs and Newcastle. Just completely shambolic really.

Wout didn’t score any goals either in the premier league for us and Ronaldo struggled to score for Erik after being prolific the season before. So does indicate an issue with Erik’s tactics. Antony being shit and Rashford being selfish probably doesn’t help either.

Antony being shit and Rashford being selfish probably doesn’t help either. Wout was shite and he was basically a decoy for the pace runners. It's not just about Rashford being selfish, he's been really poor all round. He has delivered a few passes and chances/assists but his head is down and he is not taking clear chances or making great decisions. ETH doesn't seem to know what his front three is and that's part of the problem. Just like you need a solid CB partnership to play a lot together, you get that understanding with forwards who are suited and used to playing with each other. We don't have that at the moment and it will take time. At least it can't get any worse

Antony being shit and Rashford being selfish probably doesn’t help either. We’ve not scored goals for years. Even the rare occasions that we’ve had goal-scorers in the side, they’ve come from one player and not been shared around. Struggled to score under Van Gaal, José and under Ole as well aside from some good spells. In fact, we’ve struggled to create chances under all of those managers too, so it’s not just an issue with finishing. In those sides we had goals coming from Zlatan and nobody else, Bruno and nobody else and Ronaldo and nobody else. Then last season Rashford and nobody else. Keep saying it every week, but there’s such a black cloud over the club and the players can obviously feel it. There’s so much perceived pressure and scrutiny on them that they’re feeling it playing Luton at home. Not making excuses for them necessarily, as a lot of them are shit. But the atmosphere at this club is not conducive to getting the best performances out of players.

But it seems Maguire has redeemed himself in the eyes of some of our fans. Not all on him mind but the fact he was stripped of the captaincy, dropped and has found a way to worm his way back in under this same manager is a joke.

To be fair, a lot of that is down to injuries isn’t it. And for all the talk of his improved form, I’m not really buying into it. He’s been at the heart of a defence that has shipped three goals to City, three to a weakened Newcastle and then four to Copenhagen in the week. The manager is taking a more pragmatic approach in general at the moment which probably suits Maguire. But he’s not able to play in the side if we’re playing the way the manager actually wants to play. However, by the looks of it you could say the same for numerous members of the squad.

It's beyond bizarre Johnny Evans and Maguire, with Maguire now ahead of Varane. I'm going to hold back and just watch what unfolds until Christmas. That fixture list looks way beyond this team at the moment, but it will be interesting to see how they are left after boxing day. I have a bad feeling about this 6 week period until the 26th.
