Casemiro injured. Even so I would have played Hojlund upfront and picked a midfield three of Bruno Amrabat and Mainoo. Shocking that Rashford gets to start ahead of Amad. But hardly surprising as its been going on all season.

Of course this may end up looking foolish, but that line up, to me, shows exactly why Ten Hag should be sacked. Even while binning our centre forward, he manages to pick a maximum of two actual midfielders, one of whom (Amrabat) has just performed so badly and is so slow and technically limited that his presence is a gift to the opposition. Neither Fernandes not McTominay will make a contribution in midfield. Two versus however many Guardiola directs to swamp them. Idiotic. Effectively, sabotage. Have to agree, said we need to pack out midfield, it’s where games are won and lost |

Can’t really defend the Rashford call.
But I think it was a safe bet that Bruno would be in that false 9 role given that’s how we started against Brighton. That was always going to be a selection that had a view towards this game.
Midfield will probably be a bit of a box, with Rashford and Garnacho more in that sort of split striker role. We’ve done that before against City.
Rasmus has goals off the bench against Newcastle and Brighton in recent weeks.
Anyway, 3-1 City.
