Cole Palmer not getting a single minute is also a disgrace. Comfortably better than Foden.

Is it just me or does Kane just look like a big overrated donkey these days? Harsh considering he’s just knocked in forty goals/assists. Definitely in decline now at his age. But those figures aren’t bad for a big overrated donkey are they. The lack of balance in the England side is killing them. You’ve only got to defend the right flank against them. It’ll improve if they can get Shaw back as at least that’s a direct attacking threat, but there’s no chance he’s going to be anywhere near his best when he comes in. It’s almost like, given he knew he wasn’t going to have a LB to threaten down that side for at least the group games, he maybe should’ve, I dunno, took an actual left winger. With pace. Palmer thing is bizarre. Southgate sort of did this with Grealish in 2021. He was playing well and everyone clamoured for him, but he wouldn’t give him the nod over Mount. COVID got Grealish into the side. Then in the World Cup he had Rashford really ticking but would only use him off the bench. However, at least those two players got some minutes. Palmer’s getting nowt.

Also, on the really strange Kelvin Phillips comment. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think he was starting in the last World Cup was he? I think Henderson was starting because Phillips had either been injured or ousted at club level.
He started in the last Euros and was integral to the England side then with his pressing and energy. But Gareth wasn’t using him two years ago.

Palmer’s getting nowt. I'm convinced he doesn't know his best side and he's experimenting in a tournament. Palmer and especially Watkins deserve a crack now. The midfield he's playing has no balance due to this ridiculous TAA experiment. It's not rocket science, play people in there best positions and stop shoehorning players into the side because your feel they have to play. He's had two years to work out how the team will setup and play

Southgate has always played favourites.
It isn't working with Foden. There are plenty of players who are good at club football and bad at international football and he seems to be one of them. Palmer or Eze deserve a go of it.
And it is a classic McFred situation. Individually Rice isn't good enough for this level. In previous competitions he combined well with Phillips (but it came at a cost as neither of them created anything). I would just play a midfield of Mainoo and Bellingham. Bellingham may be incredibly good as a number 10 for Real Madrid but look at the midfield he has behind him? At least playing him as a number 8 he'd be able to boss midfield and he and Mainoo would understand each other very well.
Kane hasn't become a bad player overnight but he isn't getting any service. Reminds me of the World Cup when he spent half the competition in midfield. And when everyone behind him plays too deep what do you expect?
Anyway this is all very good for us. Southgate is getting found out early in this competition.
And it is a ridiculous excuse re Phillips. As England manager you have a large pool of players to select from so if you need a specific profile of player you can find an alternative.
Imagine if he returned to club football and one of his favourites got injured? Which would almost certainly happen if he managed us.

The lad Williams looks impressive but he was up against an oil tanker last night. Really want to see him up against a quality side to see how good he is. Has loads of pace and more importantly he has end product.
