Very much a 'whatever' game. Hopefully get some more minutes in Ugarte's legs, give Collyer and Amass a start too. Not sure who else plays, except maybe Antony, Garnacho and the Turkish lad in goal.

I’m fed up with being push overs at OT. We should field a strong enough team to win it, with first teamers on the bench to help out if Plan A isn’t working.

Hoping to see a little mixture of first team and Youth today.
Bayindir Dalot Maguire Lindelof/Evans Amass Ugarte Collyer Bruno Antony Zirkzee Garnacho
this would be my guess...not sure if Lindelof is injured or not. Can't find anything on it

Erik will field a pretty much full strength team. We saw that in his first year in the Carabao Cup even when most of our games were against lower league opposition. I am not opposed to that though. Pre-season was a waste of time and half the squad sat out because they played in international competitions in the summer. We are integrating a lot of new signings into the team. International break was disruptive as usual. And with a strong team we should win this and back-to-back wins will help us to build some confidence and momentum.

Rest Bruno play Eriksen closer to goal. He’s optimal there.

It’s difficult as you don’t want to risk your best players as such but it could be a good chance for some to keep the momentum going.
I know nobody generally advocates for Rashford to start, but a goal here could be handy for him.

All for taking it seriously but theres absolutely no reason to be starting Bruno or Mainoo in this.
Give Amass, Ugarte and Collyer some decent minutes aswell. Start utilising the squad where you can. No disrespect to Barnsley but this is a prime game to do it in.
Bayindir
Dalot Maguire De Ligt Amass
Ugarte Collyer
Rashford Eriksen Antony (yes I know but its more his level)

This would have been a perfect match for Yoro to get his feet under him... really unfortunate he is injured

Garnacho and Ugarte need a start. I'd also stick with Eriksen. We need his playmaking abilities this season and perhaps having Ugarte as a willing runner will give Eriksen a new lease of life. Rashford needs the goals so should also start. And if any of our defenders is anything less than 100% I wouldn't risk them.
