Yeah, Bruno's the reason we aren't scoring.. Took the words out of my brain, here.

4 goals and 3 assists for Garnacho so far, 6 games into the season.
He managed 10 goals and 5 assists across his impressive breakthrough season.
Exciting.

Not getting too carried away. Was great and all but need to see it being done in the league now. Was nice to see us actually going for it though instead of sitting back protecting a lead.
Far more clinical going forwards though, which is what we want to be seeing.
Very much looking forward to seeing Ugarte and Mainoo playing together in the middle. Set up correctly I think it could be a very good midfield.

Agree, we really need to look beyond Eriksen moving forward.
We're not building a side around him.
Wish we had gotten him earlier in his career, though.

Eriksen isn't the answer. But especially against weaker opposition he could be useful for us. He looks fitter and sharper this season and having someone like Ugarte who covers so much ground does make it easier for Eriksen.
Bruno is good for a goal or an assist every other game. But he's not as prolific as his first season for us when he was the main source of goals. So we do need other players to provide a creative spark. Bruno also doesn't pull the strings. His strength is his directness and willingness to take risks and make the killer pass. So we do need a playmaker as well.

The stats indicate that Bruno would be good for more than an assist every other game if we had forwards finishing the chances he creates. Hopefully the confidence built from Saturday and then last night helps out with the goal-scoring going forward.
Ugarte could be great for someone like Eriksen though, definitely. Someone who can properly get through that donkey work and allow him to play. Not in the big games certainly, but it’s an example of how having the right type of player can help unlock options within the squad. We might get a tune out of Casemiro in a similar way if he’s alongside Ugarte against lesser teams and no longer bound by the discipline of defensive duties that he clearly struggles with at this stage.

No matter the opposition, we still had to go out and win. We have struggled against lower league opposition in the recent past so let's not downplay the result and the game. It was a good win regardless that it was Barnsley.
Might be a false dawn, we seen it in the past, but let's enjoy this moment, no need to be negative all the bloody time.

Yep sorry, to those thinking Eriksen is the answer, he isn't......... Yeah but we need a younger version. Ugarte will do really well IMO. That second goal from Garnacho was a peach and it started with Ugarte anticipating a pass robbing the ball and laying it off beautifully rather than losing it or misplacing the pass. Then the pass from Eriksen into space and the finish. It's all against Barnsley, who were dreadful and concede a lot of goals in League 1 anyway, but that's the kind of transition football and press we need to build on. Ugarte will get better and more used to the prem and allow these players to play with a bit more freedom. We need a player with experience and that type of skill set, mid 20's or so.

What is clear is that Ugarte will make a huge difference this season in the same way that Casemiro did in his first season. The way Erik plays demands an awful lot from a CDM but Ugarte is capable of handling those demands and that will allow us to use players like Casemiro and Eriksen to help us in the transition from defence to attack. Their legs are gone but they still have a very high level of footballing intelligence. And in games against stronger opposition a midfield of Mainoo and Ugarte is going to hold its own most of the time.

Dont think anyone is saying Eriksen is the answer here. Just appreciating the player he is.

I got a feeling it will be up and down for a couple of months at least and will test peoples patience. There's a lot of new players and players coming back from long lay offs. We have been creating a huge amount of chances, but hasn't really clicked in finishing. The finishing last night was top drawer albeit against shit opposition and that's going to be key, hopefully we can get a settled front three. Rashford, Hojlund and Garnacho are the front three for me, but with plenty of game time for Amad and Zirkzee and even Antony with the amount of games being played!

Yeah I don't think we will be seeing much consistency in these coming months. But it would be massively helpful if Rashford can start scoring regularly while we wait for Hojlund to return from injury. It is also great that Garnacho looks like he will be even more productive this season.
Defence already looks a lot more solid this season so that is something. And worth remembering that in Erik's first season we only managed one more goal in the Premier League than last season but the difference was that we didn't give away many goals.
Still if we do have some occasional goal fests like we've had over the last two games it will give me a bit more confidence that we are on the right track and it is just a matter of having some patience until things click more regularly and we build that team understanding and our forwards become sharper and more clinical.

Bruno coming on a casually throwing up 2 assists to Eriksen....
Rashford's first goal was just a thing of beauty, Garnacho was running riot all over them, they fed each other for goals. If these 2 can do this against real teams, then we are in for a season.
