Take that but fuck me if anyone thinks that was a good result and performance against a team on par with Bolton or Wigan in Europes second rate competition they need urgent medication.
Our standards are on the fucking floor.
Hopefully as a club this is bumping along the bottom and the only way is up with the incoming manager.

The team is staying engaged. This is the biggest thing I have taken from every match Ruud has been in charge of... none of this 30min of lights out play then we run over the rest of the game. IDK what ETH was doing

Two wins and a draw since ETH’s departure. 8 goals scored (should have been 9, stonewall penalty not given today). Chelsea were the biggest test and although we didn’t set OT alight, we weren’t embarrassed. I would have taken that if offered in advance. The only way is up!

We were much better second half so whatever Ruud said to them clearly worked. Came out with a lot more intensity for the second period.
Hopefully Amad can get his season back on track after that. Not been massively impressed with him in his previous outings this year, but more or less everyone’s been shite so happy to give the less tarnished ones a fresh start under the new manager.
Clean sheet with what was unquestionably a CB partnership you’d ideally never have to use. Don’t mind the idea of Casemiro and Ugarte together. Casemiro has seemingly decided he now operates in a free-role since coming to United, so I think it works better for him to not be the sitter in a two.

At least we are still in the running for the play-off (and might even be able to squeeze into the top 8). This competition is super important because it remains our best route to Champions League football. It is a very long slog but all the teams in the competition (including us to be fair) are second tier.
Good on Ruud for getting an important win. Already has the same number of points in one game as Erik managed in the previous three. The Chelsea draw was respectable as they are far above us in the table (although also a bit of a shambles) and the Leicester cup win felt good.
But this isn't a job for an inexperienced caretaker manager. It will take all of Amorim's magical powers to turn us around. But he achieved great things with Braga and Sporting so I am confident.
