From Sky Sports:
Gabriel Heinze could get the chance to prove his fitness for the World Cup against Middlesbrough on Monday.
The Argentine has made a remarkable recovery from the knee injury he picked up against Villarreal last September.
The ligament damage was so bad that Manchester United had ruled him out for the season, which appeared to leave his World Cup dreams in tatters.
Heinze refused to admit defeat and stuck to a rigorous rehabilitation programme in order to get fit for the summer.
The dashing full back has played in a couple of reserve fixtures and is in line to feature against Boro after shaking off a minor groin niggle.
"Gaby played for the reserves last Saturday, then turned out again on Tuesday," said Red Devils chief Sir Alex Ferguson.
"It was probably a little bit too soon, which is why he ended up with the groin injury.
"But, with the World Cup coming up, the lad is just so eager to get himself fit.
"That is his main priority really. I am not saying he is ignoring us but I can understand where he is coming from."
Should Heinze come through Monday's game unscathed and features again on Sunday, he could well earn a call from Argentina coach Jose Pekerman.
