SAF has said that smith will be back after september, what role will he play in the team. If we buy two midfielder will he return to his original role of a striker. If Utd sell Ruud could we count on Smith to score 15+ goals a season for us. I seem to remember him doing well when he first joined us and Ruud was injured.
Any thoughts

He definatly has the quality to score the goals we need. But I think getting the quality of balls in to him is going to be a problem!
If we still had Becks he'd get 20+...

Smith is Tenacious and thats a great quality in a striker, he will never give up on a ball and he'll run himself to death for the team! Thats why we love young smudge!
It'll take him a while to get used to being back in a striking birth

Fergie has already said that Smith will play in his original role when he returns from injury so Im presuming by that he means he will be classed as a striker  |

Most certainly Rio especially with Riqueleme/Scholes/Ronaldo/Giggs pulling the strings You reckon we'l go for Riquelme then fella? I still cant decide whether or not I want him. When I watched him lose his bottle with that penalty, it kinda changed my opinion on him ...  |

Ive seen Shearer, Henry, Ruud, Beckham, Gerrard, Ronaldinho, Zidane all miss penalties mate.
And I do believe we will get Riqueleme and he's deffo got what we need for next season if were as serious as the Glazers seem to be about winning the Premiership and what an addition he would be on the big Euro nights.

Smudger did well playing in the Keane position, but i and everybody else knows that he is a striker, and was scoring important goals for us until Rooney came on board - I think whether Ruud goes or not, once a replacement for Keano is found, Smith should be put back in his rightful position....Striker.

I'm not 100% we will get Riquelme now, after SAF stayed in the same hotel as Villereal i was at first, but now Scholesy is back just not so sure. Scholes' goals faded when Rooney started taking up his space, the same space which Riquelme tends to occupy as well as Rossi, do we have space for Scholes, Rooney, Riquelme and Rossi? I've occasionally seen Riquelme drop deeper and play the ball into another taking Rooneys spaces so maybe it could work. He's carried Villereal to the champs league semi's.. rumoured to have a release clause of around 8 mil. If we are to buy him i'd be suprised if he didn't arrive soon as the deadline opens start of June. |
