Now I don't see much written about Park Ji Sung. He's certainly earned my respect by going out there and chasing after every ball but his finishing could be better, so I was curious to know what everyone's thoughts are on him as a player and his future with United...

I really like Park since he joinned, and although he may not be the next Ryan Giggs or anything he's a good hard working player.

He's what every team needs. Recently described by some of his team-mates as a 'ferret' and his affect on the squad has been positive. Sparky II is still young, but is very experienced. He has played a starring role in the Champions League for PSV over a couple of seasons and on an international stage for South Korea. He has also been instrumental for Manchester United, and along with Van Der Sar, Vidic & Evra show Fergie has not lost his eye for a bargain in the transfer market.

yeah exactly...I respect the work ethic and the fact that he keeps players nervous by always chasing makes him an asset. I think with time he'll get even better..

All he needs to do is learn to finish better, I believe hes a quality player and well worth the £4 mill we paid for him.

The best name I’ve ever come across for him was ‘oxygen tank’ the lad just won’t stop running. A valuable asset to our team I think.

Park has had an ok first season but he will have to improve if we are to compete against Chelsea and he becomes a first team starter.
His work rate is excellent and he links up with the forwards very well especially Rooney and Ruud, however his crossing isn't great and he needs to score a lot more and he can be pushed off the ball easier than he should be, Scholes isn't as good tackler but he is stronger.

I think thats a very accurate review. He hasn't had as effective a season as I had hoped, and at times I see him as a headless chicken. I can't fault his work rate, his lniking is good, though his heading, crossing, and shooting is below par. Those three however will improve with time, especially as he is quite young too. I still don't see him as a regular first teamer, more of high impact sub - especially if we sign a CM and a winger. I'm still of the opiion that we require two CM's, I reckon Scholes should play a slightly lesser role, he remains one of our greatest assets, though I do not wish to see him burnout with age - hence the requirement of another CM. An AM and a box to box player please!

I agree I think it essential we but two central midfield players, in recent years we have sold or got rid off Djemba Keane Kleberson, Veron without replacing them and Miller doesn't look as if he will become a regular. While I have high hopes for Jones like many others central midfield is the engine room the place where teams can win the ball and make things happen, I like Giggs in that role and believe Scholes may still have another season, however it is such a critical role we need the very best we can get and let them fight it out with the above.

Also add P Neville and Butt to the outgoing midfield players.

He will never be a new Giggs thats for sure, just doesn't have the same ability. If he learns to calm down and stop running around like a dog let off its lead, he will become a useful squad player.
His effort is fantastic I do admit, just needs to learn how to channel it properly. Then we might see the sort of goals return he put in at PSV. 2 in 40+ appearences was well short of expectations for a player who came with a big reputation. I think he's got Forlan syndrome at the moment and is trying too hard. When he gets an opportunity he's so excited he goes and blows it.
Next year will be a big season for him, and I'm sure he will make massive improvements on his first year.

I think Park is a great team player - he works his socks off and rarely gives the ball away. We need more players like Park who are great team players. His link up play particularly with Rooney is excellent.

i like park a lot. i think he is one of them player that gives his all every match and wont stop till the whistle goes or he is taken off. i agree he needs to improve to keep up with the high standard of the team but he is only 24 i think and he has plenty of time to improve and adapt to the way we play.

The burnout factor certainly is a possibility at the rate he plays, so focusing on where to make the challenges will help him and keep opposing players paranoid.
