Rooney's rumoured to play against T&T, do we want him to? Read Republik of Mancunia's latest blog here and then discuss it in this thread.

I actually believe he is 100% recovered, the training clips look very good. Just obviously not match fit. I would not be against him playing from the bench at some point. Can't have Downing coming on for Owen again - what the fuck was that Sven TIT!!!!!

I want Wayne to play in the World Cup, but I am unsure how I'd feel if he come on against T&T or even started for that matter. First of all, I'd feel pride because of the simply fact Wayne Rooney is world class and plays for us but after that I'd feel nervous every time he got the ball. Just watching Italy now, Totti was struck on the leg he not recently broke and screamed he was substituted within 15 seconds. I couldn't bare the anger and despair if Wayne was to reinjure himself because not only is he so vital to us but it could have damaging effects on our and his season 2006-07.
Quality read again mate!

Well as long as its for 10-20 minutes then I guess it's ok, better than him starting a match in the knock out stages getting annoyed becauses he is not quite up to speed with the fit players and getting sent off or injured through stupidity.
20 mins against T&T then maybe 30 mins to a half against Sweden might do him some good.

Yeah, red4life I reckon that might just happen or starting the game against Sweden providing his sub appearance vs. T&T goes all good.

For me they'll be a mix of excitement and nerves. I love watching him play and selfishly as an England FAN would want him to start against T&T and scrore a hat-trick. But it's utd first, and every second he plays i'll be touching cloth at the thought of him gettig injured, next year is such a big season for us, the culmination of Fergies new side, finally getting a side (depending on who we sign) to challange Chelsea all ruined because England brought him back to early just so they can get knocked out in the semi's ffs. Will England fans give a shit? Course not, we'll be the ones wiho suffer.

If he's healed then I'm not against him getting out there and playing, but I think all of us will be watching with our fingers crossed...

There is no way on this Earth I want him playing against T & T although Im sure the fella himself would want too, he should get the 2nd half against Sweden and no sooner.
We shouldn't have to call on him for the group games and the 1 st knockout stage he should play just to get match fitness for when the Quarters and Semis arrive

He's NOT going to play. Docs don't arrive until Friday and the FA are scared shitless of risking him without their say-so.

Just heard that doc don't fly in till Friday too but they also stated in the same interview that he may play a part on Thursday. Can't see it meself. Does my head in when you have to rely on sources of media for such information when all you want is the truth yet they will print false shite to sell and then print the truth to sell again. It's a complete shambles, you buy a paper to read a story on a topic and they print 4 or 5 different stories on that specific throughout the week b4 you get the real story at the end. So you pay 5 times to get one conclusion, Am I goin mad

I think we can get thorugh T&T without him, maybe play him as a sub against Sweden, i heard he was only 70% fit at the moment, so well see, we will need him after the groups, win against T&T and that takes the pressure off, but we want to beat Sweden so we dont play Germany next round....

The match against Sweden is when I think he should get some playing time in preparation for the matches outside of the group stage.
