From Sky Sports:
South African international Quinton Fortune has rejected an offer to join Celtic.
The 29-year-old had looked likely to link up with former Manchester United team-mate Roy Keane at Celtic Park, but the Hoops have now lost out on both players.
Keane was forced into early retirement on June 12 because of persistent injury problems, and Fortune has since decided against a move to Glasgow.
He had met previously with The Bhoys' boss Gordon Strachan and chief executive Peter Lawwell and had a medical at the club, but decided to turn down the offer of a one-year deal with the Scottish champions.
The talented player remains available on a Bosman free transfer and is now able to pursue interest from other clubs.
Strachan, meanwhile, will be anxious to attract another quality midfielder to his team for their impending assault on the UEFA Champions League and domestically.
Looks like maybe he will end up at City then? I'm surprised that more teams havent gone in for him.

So glad he never went to Celtic, a player like him deserves to be playing in the Premiership. I think he rejected the Celtic move because of Keano's retirement. Would he have accepted a Coca Cola Championship team's offer?...NO!...So I don't see why he should lower himself and go to the SPL!

I’d like to see him at Bolton, weren’t they reported to be interested in him too? Well, either way, I’m glad he isn’t joining the SPL.

I find it hard to understand that we're getting rid of players like Fortune and keeping Fletcher!

I understand getting rid of Fortune, he is very injury prone although he is a quality player his injuries are taking a toll on him and it's a good move for Fergie to let him start a fresh with a new challenge at a new club.

Flethcer is still considerably younger, and if you think about him, he has never been played in his strongest position, bar once. I'm not saying he WILL come good, I;m just saying there is both time and enough potentail for the possibility that it may happen. he has two seasons left to prove himself, as does Richardson.

So what exactly is this 'strongest position' then? Defence? Striker?? Keeper? Left Mid?
