Some of our best players (Keane, Cantona) lost their temper quickly. If history means anything then, it should work in his favour. We need a player who's going to do whatever he can to win back the ball....
... anyone else reckon he looks rather like a woman who loves women with the blonde hair? hmm

Was it against Boro when he flew into the tackle from behind their CH as he was walking out of defense, back on his feet turned and bagged.....Thats the Smithy I like ! Smith has got a lot of passion, that's what made him so important at Leeds, when he was younger he was prolly one of those who heard "he has a lot of heart" quite often. With passion comes temper, this is something he has worked on though and he is much calmer now than he used to be.
Keane and Cantona both had temper yes, but they also to a certain degree learned to control it. If you can turn your temper into passion and authority, it's a good thing, if you can't control it and you end up becoming the player who gets sent off in finals or the deciding match of the season, it's not.

Kindof like how Keane missed the European Cup final and nearly cost us the FA Cup the year we won the Treble through not being able to control himself? Or how Cantona missed an entire season through not being able to control himself? Alan Smith is 25. I'd say Eric and Roy were both more hot headed than him at his age! lol.

Like I said, Smith has improved a lot since he joined us, he certainly isn't as bad as he was at Leeds. He's a good lad, just very passionate bless him
