Hey guys,
Please excuse if this is posted in the wrong forum but I was hoping for some suggestions concerning my NEED to visit Old Trafford just once in my lifetime to see a United game in the felsh.
It seems that SAF is intent on taking the squad to Asia for their summer tour, even though I was sure that Malcom and the Boys wanted the Reds to take a tour of the US once again.
Old Trafford is where a foreign supporter needs to be for the ultimate United experience! A One United membership gives you only two weeks notice I believe and that is too short to secure affordable airfare.
So I guess my question is....If you were a supporter, living in Washington, DC. How would you go about planniing a trip to Old Trafford?

Im kinda in the same situation as yourself, thats a bit patronizin considerin im from Ireland! But i find it difficult gettin to games aswel. Ive only been to one in my life, Copenhagen in October. The tickets were on general sale, so i bought them way in advance, about a month. Flights were fairly cheap then, so that helped. Other than that, id say joining a Supporters Club if u had one close.
And id agree with you that Old Trafford is probably the best experience for an avid supporter. The whole atmosphere before the game was especially enjoyable. I got to the ground at around 2 o'clock, and just hung around outside for a wee wile, went in2 the shop n that, then hit the bar!! The Trafford Bar was amazin just up the road from the ground. All the fans are together, and its a great way to chat to fellow fans. The Copenhagen fans were there too, and it was all in good spirits. Ive got a video of it on YouTube:
Check that out and you will see what am talkin about!
Sorry if i cudnt be more help!

You should become a member of your countries Fan Club, you can usually get tickets through them in addition to the actual trip and hotel stay. It will add up to an expensive total, but supporter club trips usually do include tickets to one or two matches, the plane trip to and from, coach to and from matches, tour at Old Trafford and hotel stay.

Yeah i was about to say the same things...i've been to OT once but unfortunately it was in the off season n i just visiting my family...and that was only time i cud go there...i want to see a game there too.. if you want to get the whole experience then join the MUSCUSA [Click here]Otherwise, just buy the ticket online, hop on a plane to Manchester, get to a cheap motel, catch a taxi to the Trafford...and enjoy!

I am currently a MUSCUSA member and they do offer trips. You were right in thinking that they run ini the expensive range. I just can't swing what they were asking.
I have found some cheap round-trip tickets to Heathrow before (around $500) when I was thinking about getting to the '05 FA Cup Final.

Good stuff hi!! Considerin i was pissed at the match, it was still really brilliant! The atmosphere at that match wasnt the best i hav 2 say, it was more or less a formality 4 us, but it was still the best way i could imagine supportin United.

I tried that once but just as I saw the white cliffs of Dover I had RAF jets telling me to land immediately.....not fun at all especially since they were scouse pilots.

I sold all my belongings last season and worked as a part time waiter in a chinese restaurant to save up to go to O.T ... i had told my ex-gf at the time ( in august 2005 ) that i was going to make sure i went to O.T to watch United vs Arsenal...i got mocked by both her and ALL my friends ( haha talk about the motivation i got after that ) , saying that i would NEVER ever have the chance to go there, and i could keep dreaming ... this got me all the more motivated..and really made sure i saved up the money.. ( especially in Lebanon , where making money is BLOODY hard and where life is expensive relatively ) ... so i put in a form to my university saying that i had to go to the U.K for "family reasons" .. i left for a whole month... (april 2006) I went from beirut...to milan ( i waited 7 hours in airport there, and i met Andrea Pirlo there that day lol ) ... to London ( stayed with my family there ) .. then went to Manchester (where my cousin is a student, and he got me the ticket ) ... a day before United v Arsenal... and when i saw O.T, i was literally in tears...i also took the O.T tour in the midweek that same week...and then saw United v Sunderland ( fuckin game :@ ) .... All of it...for the BEST WEEK OF MY LIFE...plus the city is amazing.... so my friend..if i could make it ALL the way from beirut, Lebanon....i think u can make it from all the way in the USA... If u REALLY want to go...put ur head to it...and ull make it UNITED TIL' I DIE !
