Bearing in mind im only a student lol and i have limited resources (if you know wat i mean) Also ill be coming up from london and would appreciate if anyone could tell me where i could get a decent (yet cheap ) room for the night and how much it would set me back. thanks - Rick

Tickets are going quite cheap at about £10-15 in the Stretford End too, which is the best stand in Europe never mind OT.

Stretford End (aka west stand) is definatly the best place in the ground. Non stop singing. Followed by the East Stand upper, North Stand tier 2 then the quiet south stand in my opinion.

South Stand is full of the boxes, so lots of business-type people, and what not. Definitely go for the Stretford End.

As far as I know there aren't many B&B's near OT. You'd be better off checking Salford Quays out or even the City Centre.

Yeah mate you came with me to see that game as well. It would have been much better if we were in the area where people were chanting. Then it would have been more fun but still. I wish I was in Manchester, or England at least. I'm so jealous right now.

Singapore vs Myanmar...3 red cards for the myanmar guys cos they started throwing water bottles at my national team. USA vs venezuela would be a treat. if i could go to OT just ONCE...i would die happy.

I'm in the Stretford end Stretford end Have a look for the nearest Travel inn. About £55 for the night, if there's two of you going it works out dirt cheap. I also found this place, 5 minute walk from the stadium. Tavel Lodge

ok i dont mean to put a damper on what promises to be a wonderful match, nor do i mean to piss on anyone's parade...but does anyone think that this game is coming at a bad time?
we've been playing every 3/4 days for the past 2 and a half weeks and its going to continue. first it was lille on the 20th of feb, on the 24th it was fulham, then on the 27th it was reading. 3rd march was against liverpool and today it was against lille again. this weekend we've got middlesborough, which promises to be no easy stroll and then the europeXI match in midweek and bolton on the weekend(after which we thankfully have a 2 week break!)
its already clearly starting to take a toll on our squad, what with players looking tired and not playing their best, and more and more players picking up injuries. our squad players, as we all know are not good enough to (as a group) win a game on their own. with a fair few of our first team(including squad players) injured or suspended, and the next few games being crucial as to how our season plays out, i'm starting to get a bit worried that this is one unnecessary match at this time.
dont get me wrong, i'm all for going thru with the game. its for a good cause and promises to be quite a spectacle, but why couldnt it be held after the season ends, or at a less busy period?there arent any international tournaments going on this summer after all. this is, as Fergie famously put it, squeaky bum time, and IMO, this game is coming at the wrong part of this season.

Tickets came through today, couldn't get any for the Stretford End, so I've got North Stand.
