David Suazo having watched him a few times this season and he's ok, not really a great player, he's playing well in Italy but not sure if he's a world beater.

My shopping list: Riquelme, Gudjohnsen... and I still havent seen a more defensive midfielder who impresses me enough.

Mascherano, I've been watching him for a while in south america and he looks good, and the five live football phone in (friday nights 2.30am - 3.30am) guy from south america eulogises about him and Tevez and Quirinho so I think he could be a good signing.
But fergie has had bad luck with south americans before so I wouldn't blame him if he was a little cautios.

i dont think saha and rooney will be enough so torres would be good in part swap for rudd, also diarra for 20+m and carrick or riquelme

Glad to hear everyone is more hopeful of getting Riquelme than i am - I've always been pessimistic though about United getting "big" players - Hope we can sign him

This is what I want to happen in the transfer market:
We keep Ruud.
Sign Diarra in a part-ex with Silvestre.
Sign Riquelmé for £8m (Release Clause in his contract)
Bring Foster back off loan from Watford, to cover for Howard who is going to Everton.
Although, I've said Silvestre to leave in a part-exchange with Diarra, it's only because it would reduce the cost and give Evra a chance to impress. Silvestre has been good for United, and been a great servant to our club. I'm not with these people who like to criticise him, thats unfair. He has kept great standards, OK at times during this season has looked a bit shaky but you cannot disregard what he has done for us. If this is the end Mikky, then thanks and good luck.

Exactly what i'd like to see happen. Silvestre has become one of our senior players at the club now but its time to say goodbye to him and thanks of course. If Diarra's pricetag doesn't fall then Mascherano should come instead, has many good attributes for hte premiership. Reminds me a little of gattuso with some different parts to his game.

I think he's been v good for spurs last season and could get even better if he plays with better player in United. Diarra is v hype in my eyes...not saying he's bad but Essien suppose to be better than him, but never really set Prem alight. Carrick is proven in Prem and desperate to play in Champ League. I think he is a good bet for 10-12m in comparison to Diarra in my eyes.

Carrick over Diarra no doubt about it mate and few on here think the same.
Fergie don't seem to think so though, either that or he knows Carrick would be vastly over priced by the Spuds board

Carrick would be vastly over priced by the Spuds board Well Diarra is not exactly what you call cheap...is it?? I mean he dominated midfield when spuds played against Chelsea and Arse. Recently Fergie buying too many forgein players then english players. I don't think it's a good sign & I personally don't want us to end up like arses.
