The guy's 34-years old, used to be great but not anymore. It'd be nice to see Cristiano Ronaldo ripping him to shreds next season when United meet Chelsea.

Clearly a business based signing if this does happen cos the team wont gain much from it. There will be shirts being sold left right and centre and a load of advertising deals lined up. It's all about the money!

That'd be great if Chelsea also brought a Delorean and went Back to The Future and got Carlos 7 years ago.

I'd be really surprised to see Roberto Carlos end up at Chelsea as he's not in his best form. I think a move back to some club in Brazil would be more likely. Shevchenko is a possibility though not one I'd like to see. But I don't worry about Chelsea, we've got to get the midfield strong again because we have the strikers to compete with anything other clubs have to offer.

i like the post dizzy made me laugh needed it today too. why would roman want him? i would agree that chelski would only want him for advertising and selling shirts, but then again whos to say that roman might just want a new play toy.

Remember chances are Ruud Van Nistelrooy is leaving the summer so our attacking choices are majorly cut back. Abramovich loves Roberto Carlos, if Chel$ki bring in Roberto Carlos and get rid of Aiser Del Horno and Wayne Bridge that'll be a step back for them and I for one will welcome it!

The only good thing about Carlos' game is his free kick. If he wasn't as good as he is at a set piece he'd be a very average player. Now Beckham as at Real, he isn't taking free kicks as much as he used to. He's fast becoming surplus to requirements.

Gettin on abit now Carlos, never been the greatest of defenders in my eyes anyway just had blistering speed and a great shot.
Think Ashley Cole could be the man for Madrid next season!
Is Roberto Carlos still Brazils first choice at left back?

Looks like the next Real Madrid to me. Abramovich isn't very experienced in football, he's starting to buy the big names on big money who will make him money. Real did this after winning the Champs league and ok it won them the champs league also but look where they're gone now, they bought Becks to sell shirts lets face it, along with about 20 of their 22 man squad. So personally i really hope Chelsea buy Roberto Carlos, he's way past his best and has about 1/2 years left in him, Ballack only has 4 or so left.

If Roberto Carlos takes 10 free kicks in a match, 9 will go blasting Cristiano Ronaldo style into the stands but one will be on target, I don't think thats a good accuracy percentage, he can hammer the ball really hard but thats about it, he's always out of position cos he wants to be a midfielder badly but wouldn't get on for Brazil in midfield so he plays left back.
I hope they get him, he'll be scrunched in the first game he plays in the premiership and that'll be the end of that!

Hope they do buy him, it might undermine their good defence. Only thing that Carlos has to offer anymore is a hard shot, which when remotely near the target people cream about, more often than not though it's knocking some poor fan out in the 18th tier of the stadium.
