With Paul Scholes still having two seasons in him, I'd have to say a defensive midfielder because that is what we are missing, and that defensive midfielder for me is DIARRA. Although, if United were to capture the £8m signing of Riquelmé I'd be more than happy

I’m not a big fan of Carrick’s, although he’s English, young and I’m sure he’ll become a bigger and better player. Also, he’d certainly be a lot cheaper than Diarra, surely? If we can bag a quality defensive midfielder I’d be more than happy. Give us a younger Makelele and I’d be laughing.

I think Reo-Coker or Mascherano are by far the best options for us. Both young, both have a lot f energy and cover box to box. The only advantage of Reo-Coker is that he is English and has Premiership experience.

Cambiasson-proven at the highest level and would be fantastic if we could get him. No way would i want Diarra if he costs anywhere near the prices being mentioned.
With the increased speculation about Ruud it wouldn't surprise me if Fergie used this to lure Gattuso over or Cambiasson from Italy. Nothing will happen until after the world cup with this of course and as much as i want Ruud to stay he is great bargaining power if he is to leave. Someone like Carrick or Mascherano might be better picking up in the following seasons after developing a little more, although Carrick's price will rise dramatically, its probably now or never for him unless we win a large sum of money next season.

Spuds will release Defoe and won't sign Mido so will be looking for a forward and they like Ruud, we want Carrick but if Ruud goes we must sign a twenty goals a season man and there not exactly growing on trees are they Cambiasson-proven at the highest level and would be fantastic if we could get him. I wanna see Gattuso at United, mainly 'cause he looks like a pirate. Although I'd love to see him man marking Robben and fouling him about 40 times.

For me thats been Gattusos main atribute for the last 5 years. kicking fcuk out of people, every team needs one. I would sign him for the fact he looks like a pirate, LMFAO Id have eleven pirates in me team if I could, how good would that be I wanna see Gattuso at United, mainly 'cause he looks like a pirate. There is no way that Ruud would ever go to Spurs if the likes of Real Madrid, Inter, AC want him. Spuds will release Defoe and won't sign Mido so will be looking for a forward and they like Ruud, we want Carrick but if Ruud goes we must sign a twenty goals a season man and there not exactly growing on trees are they.

Posted the comment below in May so for future postings you may refer to me as the "JUDGE" ;D Considering their the TWO players we have made bids on since this post it would be fair to say I know what we require at United. And the Arguments I endured on 606 with United fans when I posted "Carrick n Riqueleme = League Champs 06/07" ;D Carrick n Riquelme = Happy days

Are we panicking? Bids for Riqueleme and Carrick have both been put on the table and refused by the parties involved. Aldo Duscher is being looked at if we can't sign Carrick and we still want Diarra ( ) if he lowers his wage demands. Not sure Riquelme would come to United to be put out on the left wing? Think he would be better starting in the middle but then you have the Paul Scholes factor
Id go
Ronaldo - Riqueleme - Park
With Carrick holding just behind them

well i only put him there for sake of shape but as you know at united no one stays in same position rooney and drop to left. . ronaldo swap flanks etc etc etc . . you could organise that midfield/strikeforce dozen different ways. .
