I've seen him play for Nigeria several times and I think he's very good. He is amazingly quick (faster than Henry) and is very strong as well. The only problem is he is not very tall so not too god in the air and his finishing can sometimes be a little off.
I think he would be a good signing though as he is still fairly young and would inject a massive amount of pace into our team. The only problem is that I don't think he would be able to get us 30 goals a season.

Martins is a great talent no doubt but do we really need another striker?? We have Ruud, Rooney, Saha, (Smith) and Rossi. Even if Ruud does leave this summer that leaves us with 4 strikers like Sir Alex said he wants as a minimum. Rossi was coming into the first team at the end of this season and he looked like hes up to the job.
I think sometime we need to stop looking afar for players and start looking within the club. Look where Beckham, the Neville brothers, Wes Brown, Giggs and Scholes came from..

i for one am not too sure about martins... there are arguments for and against him advantages: As a previous poster mentioned he is lighting quick, even quicker than henry and im pretty sure quicker than any player in the league, he is also well built so will be able to compete with the physical nature of the game over here he is still very young (23 i think) meaning he can only improve in my opinion he is the type of player that would fit with the english game rather than the italian league... the reason being that the italian game is played at a snails pace and even the top sides have very little pace in their teams (look at juve and milan...no players with real burning pace)...an example is henry he flopped in italy but his pace n power has made him look world class in england...... and the main thing is of course his celebration is way betta than lua lua and robbie keane's disadvantages have already been outlined as the lack of height and a little bit erratic in his finishing overall i beleive he would a good singing as if he improves his finishing he can be truly world class, out own henry.... and also imagine him as an impact sub...start wiv rooney n saha (as sad as it is i believe ruud has played his last game for us) and in the last 20 mins throw on martins to run at tired legs...... anyway cant see the transfer happening so this post of mine is quite pointless

I haven't seen him that much but I would love Ruud to stay instead of any other striker joining.

he is still very young (23 i think) meaning he can only improve He is only 21 and I think he can be the next Henry, so defnitely would be a good signing.

i don't like him. He can't FINISH and he is not prolific. I don't think he'll be worth it. If we really want another striker we should go for Klaas Jan Huntelaar who is Ruud's heir in the dutch team

i think he will b a good signin, at inter hes not the vocal point of the attack so he has to create his own chances, but at united and if we get riquelme he will b brilliant with balls over the top and through balls cos hes so quick, maybe a swap deal with ruud cud be on

Not sure about how much he would cost but his contract runs to 2010, him or Huntlaar would be good investments for the future to compete with what we have.

The only thing Martins has going for him is his ultra sonic pace. The guy couldn’t finish his tea.

Martins cant finish to save his life and has never really held down a place in the inter team, he had a brilliant debut in the CL which enhanced his reputation no end and since then hasnt really fulfilled it. he has pace but so did bellion and like the prancing twat bellion he doesnt score enough goals and inter value him highly so wont even be cheap - would be a crappy transfer if you ask me
