i think carrick will seal a deal within the next few days hes that kind of character where its easy to leave and i think 12.5 million will be the fee although thats high! i still think after that we have 20 million odd left leaving the space for riquelme to come in another 12 mil i think but only 12 mil cos i belive weve agreed a deal already, did you see him tonight fabulous creativity would set in wonderfully and that would be our centre midfield sorted, carrick/scholes/riquelme/o shea good 4 centre mids and i dont think ruud will leave and i think its 50/50 we will sign a winger the future looks good

I hope Fergie seen the Riquelmé show tonight, he was excellent and if Fergie was in for him before I expect a concrete bid soon.

Well if reports are true he should be seeing how he copes against the Dutch, if he does well then i'll be shocked if we don't at least make an offer.

Riquelme was absolutely awesome tonight - his passing and vision is the best ive ever seen. If we do sign hm though I think we will need two defensive players to protect him - the way Arentina played with Mascherano and Cambiasso protecting him, and in the Premiership especially he will not get too much time on the ball so he will need extra protection.
Thats why I hope we do get Carrick as well beacuse we know he will do his job tirelessly. Although I'm little bit concerned about why Sven didn't bring on Crrick to sure up the midfield yesterday instead or Hargreaves because we know Hargreves is pretty uselss for England. I don't know if its just Sven or if maybe Carrick hasn't impressed in training.
Overall though I think they would be two excellent signings.

ON last nights performance, Riquelems price rocketed frm the £10mil price we expected to pay to around abt 15-18mil as I'm sure he is going to have a very successful WC. However him n carrick as apairing wouldn't be very defensive, Carrick ges the ball, passes to Riquelme whi can spray it all over the place, as Carrick can too (just not nearly as well) However, i would prefer, if we signed Riquelme that we signed someone slightly more defensive, as I dont think the Carrick Riquleme partnership would work, Mascherano perhaps? Yaya Toure and Zokora both impressed, if we signCarrick, Spurs are getting Zokora, so he must be good, and is defneitely cheaper than Carrick.

Agree with you sfyyaz I don't think the Carrick Riquelme partnership would work too well without another defensive midfielder in the side. Also Riquelme's price cannot go up as he apparently has an £8m release clause, although I can't see us getting him without a fight from Real Madrid and Chelsea, so hopefully thats where Heinze will come in and convince him.

Well did Riquelme say he would jump at the chance to play in the prem with United and Rooney said he would love to play along side him? This was ages ago in some interview I think.

Fucking hell,we have needed midfielders for a year now so we wait til the world cup, anybody any good will increase in price. The players ie Mascherano, Riquelme,Cambiasso have all been tied to us all would be excellent signings and all seem like Utd players but the longer they are in this tournament the higher the fee becomes. We should of acted sooner,we all new they were good and it has not taken the world cup too prove it................

We have more money than you think, someone said about Riquelmes release fee i also heard about this, 8 million? That hasnt broken our 30 mill ish transfer kitty, as we got 12 mill for Obi, SO we still have at least 30 mill give or take a few mill maybe, i think the Glazers have given us 25-35 mill cant member which. so with 30 mill, we can still get 2 midfielders, Carrick + Mascherano? If Ruud doesnt leave we dont need another striker though i would like to see someone come in, but if Ruud does leave we still have like 5mill ish from our transfer funds plus the money from Ruud (15+mill if he has a good wolrd cup) To buy a good replacement striker with... with all thats going on at Madrid and rumours they will have a clear out and start fresh, Ronaldo has a stong chance of coming to us on the cheap, then with ronaldo, Rooney, Saha and Rossi, we will have a great seaosn next year then can buy another striker next summer and slowly replace ronaldo and will have new striker, Rooney, Rossi and Saha all better than they are now, i think Ronaldo would do great for us and he has the utmost respect for the club and has said he would like to come here, so for me its like this:
In:- Riqueleme Carrick Mascherano Ronaldo MAYBE Ribery Out:- Fletcher Ruud Silvestre
The slaes of Fletch an Silvestre would also leave us more money open, give Evre time, he only came in Jan and with Heinze also on the left and O Shea who isnt world class but 3rd behind Heinze and Evre should shit happen, i dont think we need silvestre.

Ronaldo!? Whats the point of bringing him in? He's the same age as Ruud, and is not the same player he used to be. If Ruud leaves, SAF will bring in someone younger and cheaper.

i totally agree with rewdie. i think ronaldo would be a great signing.he would provide essential experience to what would otherwise be a very young strikeforce. he would be cheap and out to prove himself. he is very unhappy in madrid as he gets booed by the real fans. to learn from ronaldo would be invaluable for rooney , rossi , c.ronaldo + others. plus the guy is one of the best strikers in the world , he would score 20 a season with one leg!

If Ruud leaves, SAF will bring in someone younger and cheaper moron lol, BECAUSE he plays a lot different to Rudd, is VERY VERY undervalued, hes still a great player but Madrid is killing him, hed come to us, cheap, fit, with the experience to teach all the other strikers we have what they need, hes still a class player an like deanser said, would score for us, hes still got a good few season in him and he WILL NOT cost much so we could if you really wanted get some one else but i think what he would bring is a new breath of life into us, i still think hes a ledgend and being in Brazils world cup squad shows that, if he nets a few in world cup, you will be talking differently

Yeah defo agree with u there but i doubt fergies will move for him. Ronaldo in my eyes had it all, if it wasn't for his injury, he would be rated far higher than he is currently. Tubby and alil fat he may be, but he remains one of the finest strikers around, his tubbiness would msot certainly be cu t out with the pre-season and training schedules we have, he would get into shape in no time,a nd with the pace of the premiership I reckon he may need it - I would just hope to god that he adapts. I don't think Fergie wants to sell Fletch, tho Silvestre may act as cash deal + him for Diarra.
