Drooling at the prospect, SAF has said before Riquelme and Cambiasso are two players he would love to bring to man utd. After watching them in their game against S&M I would lve to see this happen. Any thoughts?

Rather Mascherano & Riquelmé, but we all know that isn't going to happen. Maybe end up with Riquelmé & Carrick which would be excellent too.

A bit ambitious to expect Riquelme and Cambiasso. The signing od Riquelme is likely and Carrick looks likely as well which should work well for us.

I'd love to see Riquelme at utd now, I wasn't too sure before, he was crap at Barca, he's a very skillful argantine midfield playmaker (where have I heard that before) and he played well for Villareal, but then so did Forlan! But after getting to watch him for the Argies a bit more, I think he looks class!

He was played out of position at Barca on the left when he should play in the middle and they got rid cos they got Ronny buck teeth so I wouldn't say he failed at Barca because of his ability I'd love to see Riquelme at utd now, I wasn't too sure before, he was crap at Barca, he's a very skillful argantine midfield playmaker (where have I heard that before) and he played well for Villareal, but then so did Forlan! He proved he can play in the Premiership today. He used his strength and tackled a lot more today when the S&M players where man marking him with 2 players at all times.

I wish we could get Messi, aswell, with him Rooney and Ronaldo, we'd have the three best young players in the world!

I'd welcome Riquelme and Cambiasso with open arms. We'll never be as Argentina as Inter Milan anyways.

Seeing a lot of people convinced Riquelme is the man, don't you have any concerns about his style? Firstly, he's what 28/29? got a few years on Scholes but Scholesy also has a few years left playing hopefully.. Not to mention his playing style, i don't always like judging him tracking back as its obvious most of the time he's just not expected to, but he doesn't even do it for Villereal, he takes up Rooneys space and teams base their style around him. He would have to be a box to box player for United unless we're about to start trying changes again, could he fit into a box to box player role? Or will we change our formation and style to suit him for the 3/4 years he would potentially spend at United?

Completely agree with you, Riquelme is a class player but he needs the team to be based around him like Argentina are. If we do sign him we will have to play two defensive minded players to help cover for him the way Argentina do, so he would mess up our formation. Disagree with you about the Rooney thing I think they would play awesomely together, as Rooney is very intelligent and good at making runs and Riquelme would be able to make incredible passes. Would be good if we got someone like Owen as well. Still would love to see him in a United shirt!

Last Saturday morning I was listening to Steve Bunce's "Rumour Mill" on 5 Live, and his guests were both absolutely convinced that Utd had already "done deals" for Riquelme and Mascherano.
The Torres rumour was also true they said.
The Carrick rumour they were more convinced was SAF testing the water.
For those who used to be on 606 - you'll probably remember the thread by DJFARMERGILES who said that Utd's targets were Riquelme, Mascherano, Cambiasso and Torres - and that 2 of these were done deals - so it maybe he was right.
