Guess this book is a few years old, but just got my mitts on it. Basically about the lives of a few guys in a Chelsea crew. Sounds like the author pretty much knows what he´s going on about. Gives some simple philosophic insight into the need to support a football club and to give a kicking to their rivals, schlump loads of chicks and get out of yer head, meanwhile working at some midless crap employment. The author showed proper respect for United and their supporters. Lucky for him.
Enjoyed the chapters on the home and away games, especially the kicking they give to a bunch of crapspur yiddies, and the absolute beating they received at the hands of wack job Millwall supporters.
Once went to a Millwall match back in the 80s at the old Den. Place was a mess. The bathrooms were gruesome. The fanatics were looney. A bit intimidating being an American and all. Just kept my fucking mouth shut.
Anyway, a decent read about the violence and those who perpetrated it in 90s English football. Very well written as well. Kind of in a similar vein as Trainspotting.

It's a great book. So well written. I saw the film a year or so ago and thought that was quality too. Green Street was SUCH a rip off of it though!
You should talk to LauraLou. She's just done a dissertation comparing the motives and actions of football hooligans and religious terrorists. It's fucking interesting.
