Agreed, look Henry is a good player but his attitude sucks.
He brings arrogance to a new level, and the guy's full of himself!
Talk about being a bad loser after the Champions League final!
The funny thing was he forgot to mention that Eboue dived to win the free kick that Arsenal scored from!!!

Ive no gripes with Thierry Henry to be honest with you Ive always had a lot of respect for him as he's always shown respect on the pitch. Now his rant after the Champs league was out of order, I don't really think an interview directly after you have just lost the champions league portrays a true example of yourself.
In the how ever many years Ive seen interviews with Henry he's never really come across as he did after the final.
And remember this guy is probably the best footballer to play in the Premier league and for that Im gratefull.

Can't agree with you Ned. TO be the best player, you have to show that class against top sides - and he continually freezes when it matters. Yes, he's good - and vinegar knows how to play him - but I think he would have blown it in Spain. That's why he bottled it - plus the megabucks that were offered for him to stay. I don't think the guy has got that burning ambition in him that say Rooney has. He's in his comfort zone, knows it and is basically satisfied. I think we've seen the best of him and that he will go downhill from now on. Incidentally, THAT interview was the nearest I've seen to him getting excited.

Comfort zone or continued loyalty to a club he has spent most his playing career with the aim to become the GREATEST player EVER in the history of Arsenal football club.
The guy has scored plus Twenty goals everyseason he has played in the Premiership.
Fot me that makes him one of if not THE BEST striker to play in the Premiership

Looks like we're going to have to disagree. There are some amazing stats about the guy. You are right about his goal scoring feats -truly outstanding but two things mark him down in my book. He has averaged mid thirties matches per season in his "Golden Boot" years. How? Because he doesn't really get involved in a game. Arsenal play 1-9-1 in effect - and therefore it is inevitable that he gets the highest percentage of their goals. But it does mean that he doesn't get injured. It's the rest of the infantry that get the knocks. Secondly, his lack of performance on the big stage means that he will, in my book, always be regarded as a great club player. He hasn't performed well at international level since 2003-4 and his goal scoring record at that level is not great.
His best season - if you add goals and assists to measure performance - was 2002-3 with 47. Since then it has gone 3/4 39; 4/5 40; 5/6 34. Now whether you count that as a reflection of his ability or his team is a moot point. But to me, it seems symptomatic of his attitude.
The fact is I respect the guy's ability. I've never liked him particularly but I detested him from the arrogant "penalty" mickey-take. To quote "Corporal Jones", he doesn't like it up 'em" and I think of him as a sulker. He is undoubtedly a good, indeed very good, player with fantastic ability. But great? Not in my book.

Hey Chiff they're good points well presented #thumb#
But as you pointed out his goals record in the Premiership is second to none His best season - if you add goals and assists to measure performance - was 2002-3 with 47. Since then it has gone 3/4 39; 4/5 40; 5/6 34
How much would a player cost who can guarantee that goals per game ratio over the next 4 years?
Thats the Value of Thierry Henry

I'm probably just jealous or biased. Rooney showed 25 for last year but I think will improve on that next year so I guess you're talking £35 mill. It's a pity that some of these stats weren't around a while ago - I'd love to see them for players like Charlton Incidentally, I seem to recall Law scoring something like Henry in the old Div 1. Anyway, 10p on Rooney beating Henry next year on (Goals(minus pens) + Assists) against games played for next year. PLus a further 10p on Henry not being in top three goal scorers in World Cup - although who the hell will be I haven't a clue.

Interesting how fans change with the times,i remember back in the late 70 and 80´s when i was a kid it didnt matter how good a player was who played for the enemy we hated them anyway, this respect going out to players who play for another team amazes me,saying he aint so bad is about much interest we should have about someone who will never put on a Utd top....

He's a sulky arrogant git, but there's no doubting his quality (even if it disappears in the big games more often than not). The Arse need to pay that amount in order to in the top four, without him they're average.
