Dowie named new Addicks boss.

Dowie vacated his post as Crystal Palace manager following their play-off failure and Charlton stepped in to secure his services.

The 41-year-old has made the short hop across London and will be charged with the task of succeeding Alan Curbishley who relinquished the reins at The Valley at the end of last season.

When leaving Palace, it had been suggested that Dowie was keen to head closer to his family in the North of England and his decision to remain in London will come as a surprise to many.

He beat off stiff competition from over 20 candidates and will be assisted by Les Reed, Mark Robson and Andrew Mills.

Total comedy!...pissin' myself with laughter. But, Jordan does have a point. And I will love to see him win his case in the law courts because far too many managers and players say ''I'm leaving for family reasons'' or some other bullshit and sign for another club two days later!

When they were trying to serve him with that "writ" that was hilarious, I did hear that it has now been seved, dowie you got served lol. not sure is they stuck it to his back or just scrunched it up and threw it at his head. perhaps jordans assotiate, impersinated a pizza delivery boy and stuck it under his 12 inch ham and pinaple but it's been served.
