According to the paper review on Sky Sports News Liverpool are willing to pay 9.5 million for Bent.

I really want United to sign Bent in 2/3 years time, if the 'Dippers get him he'll never play for United.
His style of play reminds me of Andy Cole and when Van Nistelrooy departs (hopefully not this summer, 2/3 years) I wanted him to come into the side.

9.5 for Bent is a bit too much in my opinion. A more realistic value would be between 6 and 7 million. But let the dippers overpay for him so he'll flop.

He is two-times better than Andy Johnson, and for the amount of goals they'll get any price under £10m is a bargain for this guy. He's 23 (i think), so has many years ahead of him with his best still to come. At 23 he scored almost 20 goals in the Premier League in his first season, I really wanted him to sign for United when he is about 25/26, not gonna happen though!

If they're going to go for Bent I'm sure they would try for Owen first. They are very similar type of players and Owen loves Liverpool. Also Owen is a proven goalscorer in the Premiership season after season whereas Bent could have just been a one hit wonder, like Beattie.

Well if he did go to Liverpool, at least he'd get picked for England! lol. He's the highest scoring English man this season, the 3rd highest in the league. Not too shabby.
