This situation is pissing me off. Recently this year I've found out that Manchester United could have signed Michael Essien (£25m+) and Sulley Muntari (£10m+?) on free deals but unfortunately could not gain the work permits to allow them to play for us. We currently have players like Fangzhuo and Rincon out on loan trying to gain a permit just so they can play for us. This is scandalous as in every other country it seems players can play there no problem.
Park Ji-Sung had to appeal for a permit and surely this is wrong. Time for a political rant, this country is 'allowing' millions of asylum seekers and illegal immigrants into this country whom have no intentions of working and come into this country sponging off the state whilst footballers who will ply their trade at some of the biggest businesses in the world and provide the country so much on tax are not allowed to come over here. Surely there is something wrong with that?...what do you think?
(P.S. Sorry if I have offended any one by saying ''those who come into the country with no intentions to work", there are plenty who come over here to earn a living and better way of life but unfortunately possibly 80% of those don't and that is my point)

How comes Essien couldn't get a permit to play for us yet he did for the Chavs then? This situation is pissing me off. When we first wanted to sign the Ghana lot they hadn't made enough international apperances or played in a european league, so the ydidn't have a euro passport. I think anyways.

Yeah that's right, they were youngsters about 18/19 years old.
It's a fucked up law really and needs to be sorted out.

Is a huge shame but obviously limits to how much United can do about it, maybe better to refocus scouts elsewhere.. Seems like by the time they do have enough caps their prices are up by 10-20 million or so.

LOL @ RY!
I know, its the government for ya! I heard of one guy, no British OR European passport, was in prison and was having his flat paid for and sumit like 500 quid a week paid into his account or some shit, its realy frustrating, Spain etc dont need the permit but they can only play like 5 non eu players in their squad, we dont have any restricitions there i dont think so....
does need to be sorted tho, good points Adz
