Just wondering what squads people think we should put out for the friendly's, as i see it we have a few options..
Try untested players such as Walcott, Lennon and Carrick to give them experience before the world cup.
Put as close a squad out as possible to the one which will start the world cup as to get used to each otheras much as possible, obviously hard to guess which squad will start as with Rooney's current abscence..
Try 5 in midfield, other different formations and try different people in the 'Rooney role' such as Gerrard and Cole.
Thoughts or other ideas for the 3 friendly's coming up?

My idea would be to try the untested players such as Walcott and Lennon, I’d rather them come on in a friendly, with the possibility of them messing up, than in a game of importance.
I’d also play around with putting Carrick as the defensive midfielder and Gerrard in the area Rooney would normally occupy.

Start the stiffs 1st half and change it to the proper set up second half.
Gives us the chance to deal with all possiblities ie having to chase a game if were behind etc

Hmm remembering we have 3 friendly's to experiment in it might be an idea to play the first team for the majority of the first game, say 75-80 minutes... Then a complete B team in the second game possibly using it to try out Gerrard and Cole in the Rooney role and Carrick DM.. then go back to the third game with a settled strategy?
Although Sven does like to change strategies and formations depending on who we play...

Start like this:
Robinson
Neville - Ferdinand - Terry - A.Cole
Beckham - Lampard - Gerrard - J.Cole
Owen - Crouch
Half time subs:
Beckham > Lennon Crouch > Walcott Gerrard > Carrick Lampard > Hargreaves Robinson > James
One question, are those on the standby list inc. in these games?

Probable England B team: James, Hargreaves, Carragher, Campbell, A Cole, Lennon, Jenas, Carrick, Downing, Crouch, Owen The BBC are tipping this team to start against Belarus! Look's pretty decent Glad to see Owen starting!

It's good the B game is being used properly to give the stand by players, the players in need of matches and untested players a chance. Looking forward to seeing how Downing and Lennon do on the wings, as well as Walcott up front.

Look's pretty decent Glad to see Owen starting! Hargreaves in defence? He's a defensive player mate. I reckon sven will want him running up and down the wing like Cole and Neville do... ?

Yeah, he can play right-back, left-back and central midfield....so can Phil Neville...and he's won everything the English game has to offer...yeah I know, bullshit decision by Sven!

Though Hargreaves was mainly central midfield, don't get to see so much of him playing for Bayern.
