Graham Taylor was pissing me off during that match. Every 5 minutes he was complaining about it not being a typical United performance. Has he not watched us in Europe over the past 5 or 6 seasons. We're no longer the gung-ho rampant United of the 90s, we're a lot more composed, patient and effective. We're better off for our new studied approach to European football. We were too reckless in the 90s, so it often came down to trying to outscore the opponent. Sure, that may be more entertaining, but I'd rather get to 3 CL finals in 4 seasons than one every now and again.
So to summarise - Taylor shut the fuck up.

I never understand why they employ people as commentators/analysts who are widely regarded as laughing stocks as managers. Why is anybody going to take Taylor's opinion on anything seriously when he is seen by 99% of the population as a complete joke?

Yeah, missing Valencia is a bummer.
We'll soldier on!

Great to see Clevers back, that one sublime pass to put Rooney through was a classic. Also Jones, I love his attacking mentality and his attitude overall. If the curling ball he put into the goal area for Rooney hadn't been well defended we'd all have been creaming overselves over the resulting goal. Although our season's been up and down, I can't help but be excited for the near future!

I agree, it's just that I've heard a few people getting at JEvans for the City game at OT. Of course, he got sent off and that chnged the game, but he'd actually had a solid first half in that match. So even in his 'worst' game of the season, he'd been good. One Titus Bramble-esque bit of positioning killed him that day.

Evans has really improved this season. He tends to get ignored. The City sending off was shit, but other than that, he's been quite solid.
There were rumours yesterday that we are after Pique again.

Yeah, saw something about a falling out with Guardiola because he didn't play/got subbed against Leverkusen. I'd rather have Subotic.

Pique is too slow for the PL and gets bullied much like our Johnny has a tendency too.He is a good player but I could play CB for Barcelona.

I've always rated Evans. I think he's definitely benefiting from regular football. His confidence must be sky high after we invested heavily in Smalling and JOnes, yet played him ahead of them.

Yeah, I've held my hands up about Evans. He's been bloody good the last few months. Still think he's too committed at times, going into challenges he doesn't need to, but that will come and then he'll have just about everything to his game. In fairness that comes as much for being very brave which is a trait you want in a centre half.

My only concern about Evans is that he should probably bulk up. He's not as strong as ferdinand, despite similar frames.
