28/04/2015 21:13, Report by Adam Marshall Van Persie shows his class in Under-21s
Robin van Persie looked in great shape as he scored twice and hit the woodwork on another two occasions during Manchester United's 4-1 win at Fulham in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League.
The Dutchman displayed a positive attitude from the outset and scored in the 13th minute with a clinical finish from an Andreas Pereira through ball. Only an upright denied him another strike before the interval, following Adnan Januzaj's centre, and he constantly worried the young Cottagers defence during his time on the pitch.
A cheeky finish past Magnus Norman made it 4-0 to the Reds with 10 minutes remaining and it proved his final act as he was replaced by James Weir moments later. Although he did take a couple of painful-looking falls, van Persie showed no ill effects and was happy to sign autographs for a number of spectators after being withdrawn.
His second outing for Warren Joyce's team would appear to signal he is ready to push for a return to the starting line-up in Saturday's clash with West Brom at Old Trafford after coming off the bench at Everton last Sunday.

Jeebus - was RVP the only player on the pitch? No mention of Joe Rothwell who bagged another couple from midfield - lad deserves a place on the tour IMO

29/04/2015 18:30, Report by Adam Marshall VOTE: UNITED U21S PLAYER OF THE YEAR Reserves coach Warren Joyce explains his shortlist for the Denzil Haroun Player of the Year award... Liam Grimshaw Midfielder, 20, 11(7) apps/0 gls.
"I think Grimmy had to bide his time a little bit and then had to accustom himself to playing in central midfield because he'd spent a lot of time as a youth-team player at centre half. Last season, he missed a year with illness really but his enthusiasm is so infectious within the group. His training levels every single day have been really good. When you've got someone like that, it really helps when you've got small numbers as he's enthusiastic about filling in so you can manipulate things to try and recreate match situations and he's been invaluable in doing that." Donald Love Defender, 20, 11(3) apps/0 gls.
"Donald has been really consistent all season and has played in a variety of positions. Certainly, his decision-making is getting better now and he's more confident and on the front foot. He is a very powerful and quick lad with good technique. He's probably played at right-back, right wing-back, right-sided centre-half, middle centre-half, left-back, on the right of three in midfield and right of four or five in midfield. So he's shown his versatility! We are trying to produce footballers with good technical ability who are good athletes and are adept in one-versus-one situations. He's got a lot of those boxes ticked." Andreas Pereira Midfielder, 19, (20) apps/4 gls.
"It has been a funny season as we have a small group on a day-to-day basis. Andreas is one of the lads who has not always trained with us because he's been involved in the first team so it's difficult for him to move between squads at times. However, he has shown a high-quality level of skills when he has played and trained with us, even though it is not always easy when moving between the teams, and he has performed well regularly in the Under-21 team." 27/04/2015 13:53, Report by Adam Marshall Chelsea test for title-chasing Under-18s Paul McGuinness is pleased with his squad's progress as Manchester United Under-18s prepare to face Chelsea in a crucial showdown at Altrincham's J. Davidson Stadium on Saturday, with free entry for all.
The youngsters have performed superbly in the play-off stages of the nationwide division and moved top of the table with a 2-0 win at Tottenham last weekend. Chelsea are clearly one of the top youth sides in the country, sealing another FA Youth Cup success in midweek, but United approach the penultimate game of the season in confident mood.
Some of the Academy squad have been working with Warren Joyce's Under-21s, which is a natural process, with skipper Axel Tuanzebe getting some minutes on the pitch at that level and others making the bench on occasion.
"It’s exactly what we want," McGuinness explained to ManUtd.com. "Some of them have done very well and it’s the next challenge, the best thing is for them to be with Warren and training with his group.
"Sometimes, they have been involved in the games too and that’s the natural evolution we want of them moving up. Axel has come in and done a good job, seeing out the last few minutes of games, which is all good experience for him. That’s the professionalism as an even higher level of professionalism is required when you’re that close to the first team. Sometimes coming on to do a job in a position that is not your normal one is all good for development."
The here and now is very much about the Under-18 team and their quest for what would be a remarkable title triumph. Middlesbrough, one of the main rivals for the crown, will provide the opposition in the final game of the campaign on 9 May at Rockcliffe Park.

Excellent news He may or may not be in the Pogba class (time will tell) but at least we've avoided a similar situation Now I want him to get a start last game of the season - assuming we'd wrapped up top 4

Great news about Pereira, really hope he can kick on now, have a good preseason and then get some games under his belt next season.

Great news about Pereira, really hope he can kick on now, have a good preseason and then get some games under his belt next season. The problem is he's yet another number 10 (ideally) - he'll be off on loan next season unless LVG tries to convert him to play elsewhere
