Thought I'd knock this up after it being mentioned yesterday and find it a handy thread to have.

Start it off with the future talent that was Pogba being sent off for Juve for spitting in a players face.

Classy.

EDIT- Any chance this could be sticky'd? As it might get a bit of use.

A scrap would be putting it very mildly indeed. Mijalovic wasn't it? Went absolutely batshit crazy and attacked him on the pitch. Was sacked for it if I seem to remember correctly.

Not many former players get a song written about them, which then gets airplay on Radio 2 and Radio 6...check this out.

"The Ballad of Paul Tierney" by Lonely Tourist was played by Steve Lamacq on his show this week (23/5/13 - still on iPlayer), and you can find the song on YouTube.

Paul was a United trainee and reserve who made one first team appearance (v. WBA in the League Cup in 2003) before being released and playing at Crewe, Altrincham and elsewhere. He's now retired at the age of 30.

Don't get many songs about Utd, which also namecheck Altrincham, Whalley Range and Crewe.

Very good acoustic/folky pop ballad.
