1969 European Cup Semi Final Second Leg

This match was made infamous for claims about the referee, French Referee Roger Machine to have been corrupt and in favor of AC Milan. Milan had a 2-0 lead and coming back to Old Trafford for the second leg. United go 1-0 up mid way through the second half, and close to the end one of our attacks ends up with the ball being behind the line. Even King Dennis didn't even bother breaking the net to make sure because it clearly went over. Not in the referee's eyes, United couldn't force extra time and the team slowly began to disintegrate until it was relegated in 74'.




I've been looking for articles that claim to have quoted the referee in the match to admitting match fixing. Help?

Too bad Dennis should have made it sure. It would have been a great way to reach back to back European Cup finals, hell we could have even won it again

Yeah, im sure we would have won the final.......against ajax.......milan won easily 4-0 if im not mistaken......i guess it wasnt' to be........United till i die
