i have this whole match, and if it was one thing that made me a united fan was the fans the atmosphere. maybe not now, but until 2005 we have had the best fans in the world EVER!

One of the comments on youtube said why would Man U fans sing "Have you ever won the European Cup" to Benfica. I definitely agree with that comment can someone tell me why we would do that?

Cause at that point it was 4-1 and we knew we were going to win it, and Benfica were going to lose. So to make the match even worse for them, we taunted them with that question. They had not previously won it, and certainly weren't going to that night. Sing your heart out for the lads! |

Benfica won it twice beforehand. We were directing it towards ourselves (sarcastically) and the nation as a whole (because we were the first to win it on homeland). Celtic won it the year before I think, but the chants were directed at English footballm not British.
It's great having a grandad who experienced it.
