Injured striker Wayne Rooney will fly to Germany with the England squad next Monday, after all.
Sven Goran Eriksson asked for the matter to be closed before the next scan on his fractured metatarsal, which was brought forward to a week on Wednesday.
Clearly growing tired at the constant speculation regarding his star forward's fitness, the Swede wanted to concentrate on the friendly with Hungary on Tuesday night.
However, The FA have issued a new statement revealing a fresh plan to fly Rooney out to their World Cup base at Baden-Baden with the rest of the squad.
It had been announced that he would continue to get treatment in Manchester ahead of the next scan on June 7.
"England head coach Sven Goran Eriksson has confirmed today Wayne Rooney will fly out to Germany with the rest of the England squad on Monday," said the FA statement.
"Wayne will then return to England on Wednesday for a scan on his foot in Manchester.
"Wayne will be accompanied by the England team doctor Leif Sward who will then analyse the scan with Manchester United."
The soap opera regarding Rooney's injury continues to take new twists with some newspaper reports now claiming he has virtually no chance of appearing in the tournament.
With fresh doubts raised over Michael Owen's fitness, the inclusion of the Manchester United youngster is even more critical to England's hopes of success in the World Cup finals.

What is the point?...Let him stay in Manchester, continue his recovery have his scan and then if all is well travel to Germany. It's pointless him going for 1-2 days is it?...the time he will be on the plane could be used in the oxygen chamber ;D
