I don’t think anyone other than the English will back England, and even some of them aren’t very optimistic. I think it’s a case of taking it all in your stride. Forget the downers.

The sad thing is, England have a team that is capable of challenging for the World Cup. Player for player, they really are one of the best in the world...but they just dont play well enough together as a team.
I dont think England have a chance in hell, especially with no Rooney.

I REALLY believe it's our year, if we don't win it this year we never will. World class players in most positions. Need to keep Nev n Cole fit to have a chance of going all the way The sad thing is, England have a team that is capable of challenging for the World Cup. "World class players in every position?" ;D ;D
Rooney, (who's not playing) Terry and Gerrard aside, i don't see any other world class players in the team.
Crouch gets a game cozz he plays for the Dippers. The end.
Ferdinand gets a game because of his rediculous price tag.
Owen Hargreaves. Yeh right!
Gary Neville. Past his best.
Big gay Sol. His heads gone west.
Ashley Cole. Runs up and down and errr!, just runs up 'n' down.
Michael Owen. Lost 5 yards of pace. It never comes back.
Frank Lampard. Can't play in England team with Gerrard.
Joe Cole. Come on leaps and bounds. But the freindlies have finished.
There's clearly not an abundance of "world class" players in the squad.

#unitedbanner# World class in most positions as I CLEARLY posted and not ALL. Your previous posts suggest your either very unknowledgable of the great game or your simply a Manchester City supporter which basically is the same. You take time out to make your point and although I think Im wasting my time to respond to you I'll do it all the same. Neville - World Class / See Manchester United facts Ferdinand - World Class / as above Terry - World Class / See Chelsea facts Cole - World Class / See Arsenal facts Beckham - World Class / See Man Utd / Real Madrid facts Lampard - World Class / See Chelsea facts Joe Cole - World Class / See Chelsea facts Gerrard - World Class / See L'pool facts Owen - World Class / See L'pool / Real Madrid / Newcastle facts Rooney - Out of this World / See through yer Blue Bitter tints "World class players in every position?" ;D ;D Rooney, (who's not playing) Terry and Gerrard aside, i don't see any other world class players in the team. Crouch gets a game cozz he plays for the Dippers. The end. Ferdinand gets a game because of his rediculous price tag. Owen Hargreaves. Yeh right! Gary Neville. Past his best. Big gay Sol. Gary Neville past his best is still one of the best and most cosistant right backs in the world.
I really do think this is a Now or Never. Or at least, never until a whole new generation of players come through.

Well I for one will be rooting for England and the US of course! Could there be a rematch between the two and a repeat of 1950? Hmm...

England have a real chance. And, they've got my backing although I'd be happy with a Semi-Finals appearance. After reading a few magazines it seems players from top nations such as Argentina, Brazil & Germany are fearing England, I thought it was just the English media that were building us up.

With quality teams like Argentina, Spain and obviously, Brazil, not many other nations think they have a REAL chance. Even them Germans have come down to Earth.. only 20% of them beleive they can lift the trophy now.. whereas in the past i reckon every German and his dog thought they could.
