THIERRY HENRY launched a furious attack on ref Benito Archundia after France’s World Cup horror show continued.
The Mexican official refused to allow a 30th-minute goal from Patrick Vieira — even though the former Arsenal star’s header was almost a YARD over the line.
And that howler was compounded eight minutes from time when Manchester United’s Park Ji Sung #dance# bundled in a late leveller to cancel out Henry’s opener.
Gunners hitman Henry raged: “We did not start appealing because it was so obvious. Everyone in the ground could see it. Why he made that decision I do not know — but it was clearly in.
“The refs are pretty quick to give yellow cards for no reason but when we wanted a proper decision there was no one out there to do that.
“We talk about their goal near the end but we should’ve been 2-0 up — and we would’ve been had he got it right. I know the ball was in, you do, everyone does.
“Come on. Why he didn’t give it I don’t know — but, at the end of the day, it just hasn’t gone our way.”
Yet boss Raymond Domenech admitted France should not have been relying on a refereeing decision to see off the plucky Koreans in Group G.
He said: “I am disappointed that we couldn’t carry on the way we started and it was difficult to see why.
“Like my players I feel disappointed — we prepared so thoroughly but we did not manage to turn the game around.
“We did score a second goal but it was not recognised. If you appealed every time you feel a mistake has been made it would be a never-ending story but video replays would have helped clarify this situation.
“It’s a pity that at this level we do not use all the technology that we could.
“We will be depending on other teams now and that’s very disappointing for a team of our quality and experience.
“We really should not find ourselves in a position like this.”
Yet Park sees no reason why Korea themselves cannot match their exploits from the last World Cup four years ago, when they reached the semi-finals.
He insisted: “If we do our best, then we can go anywhere. There’s great confidence in our team and also great belief now.”
