Im not a lover of conspiracy theories although I do enjoy reading them to rubbish them, I also believe their are ALWAYS two side to a story. Well I posted last week that I wouldn't be suprised if it happens and last night has now made me post my thoughts on this. What better / other way could ITALIAN FOOTBALL be saved from the brink? I World Cup final place thats what It was never a penalty not by the fooking rule books it wasn't anyway, and now Ukraine in the Quarters? Anyone know of an easier route to the Semi Finals that Italians have had

I have a few friends in lets say, smaller worse off countries involved in the world cup, some of them are bent on these theories that there are many bribes flying around in the world cup, and their proof being the refs performances with the amount of cards etc.
Personally i think its a load of rubbish as Fifa control which refs play where and how they referee, also if you look at Ukraine's group then its not exactly the hardest ever.. more like the easiest really.
The Italian penalty was a dive yeh, but if your gonna cheat would you leave it until the last minute of stoppage time? Even if it is going to extra time otherwise.

Team has cushy group, plays a team from South America who are only there because you need an oxygen mask to play at their own ground; then when the real competition starts, the team they're playing has two reds, and just in case their opponents get two reds as well. Conspiracy? No way. Is David Dein a member of FIFA?

I can't understand why everybody though Equador would be easy?? B4 the game I couldn't quite understand why the commentators were so cock sure we should win it. For a start Equador were not in the World Cup through a lottery process, THEY QUALIFIED and in doing so beat Brazil and the Argies at home even though they play well above sea level. They BEAT Poland by two goals WITHOUT conceding They Beat Costa Rica by three goals WITHOUT conceding They rested 5 players against the Germans and were not disgraced in a game they obviously were not looking at winning. So our game plan is to keep the ball in the heat and dictate the pace of the game and get the win. We kept the ball and dictated the pace of the game in the searing heat, making Equador do all the running and grabbed the win, we nullified the threat of Equador and bar the shot that Cole deflected onto the bar they never threatened. Job Done as were the jobs in the group games, played with 3 different foramations and bar 2 defensive blunders against Sweden we ain't conceded. Don't know what you think but I believe the 3 lions are ready for feeding and our best is yet to come ENGLAND 3 Portugal 1 post=1151402066] Im not a lover of conspiracy theories although I do enjoy reading them to rubbish them, I also believe their are ALWAYS two side to a story. How about the pitches... the standard world cup pitches are watered once the night before a game and then once 6 hours before. Now, every game Germany have played the pitch has been watered within an hour of them going on the pitch... whereas teams such as England are left complaining due to their pitch barely being watered which interrupts their passing game....

Thanks for pointing that out because Ecuador had a good World Cup being that this is only the second time they've qualified. Granted their group wasn't the hardest but they won two of their matches convincingly which wasn't the case with some of the other WC teams. I heard all of the pundits ramble on about how they won't do well because they're not playing in altitude blah blah blah so I was happy they showed up and proved everyone wrong. In the match against England they just didn't push up enough in the first half and failed to control the tempo when the English side looked tired, but they certainly didn't play badly. And as for the altitude being the factor for Ecuador qualifying, the manager (Suarez) said it best: "If we qualified only because of the altitude then why isn't Bolivia here?" Good man Red Yank thought i was on me own #thumb# Took me all Monday morning to convince my worl mates that England were not sh!t on Sunday and that the opposition should not have been taken for granted as it was. I put a tenner on Equador to beat Germany and they went and rested the 5 best players Thanks for pointing that out because Ecuador had a good World Cup being that this is only the second time they've qualified. I thought I was on my own as well...LOL. I couldn't let Ecuador be slighted as they didn't deserve it besides I'm Ecuadorian too! However I'm a football fan first and foremost and I give every side the respect they deserve as professional players, but if they play badly well then they just play badly though that wasn't the case for Ecuador so I'm glad we both saw that. Too bad about the Germany match, I was hoping they would have pulled an upset but it was sound strategy on the manager's part because a full strength squad for the round of 16 was a smart move. I thought it was soubnd judgement when I seen what the manager had done but if they topped their group which they were more than capabale of doing they would have faced Sweden instead of England I thought I was on my own as well...LOL. That was my hope Onenedkelly! I don't think Sweden would have been any easier but being that I support England, the match against Sweden wouldn't have caused an issue with my loyalties...LOL

Well for the Ecuador match I had to pull for Ecuador as my dad would come back and haunt me if I had done otherwise! The English national side is my adopted national team since years of disdain towards football here (and a good English friend in college who introduced me to United and the English league) left little option other than looking abroad.

True, that Grosso did go down easily, but you see it so many times now anyways.
I think Materazzi was extremely unlucky to be sent off anyways. I'd need better proof for a conspiracy.

Never in a million years should they be World Champions ITALIAN FOOTBALL SAVED BY FIFA Any decent team that played in the first half (Germany, Argentina and Italy) of the knockout draw had a seemingly easier route to the final, than those in the second half, which included Brazil, Portugal, Holland, Spain, France and England. It was a random draw, if England had been in the first half of the knockout stages, then everyone would be saying "Oh what luck we have!". In my opinion, there's no conspiracy, just a lucky Italian team, that also had to work hard to get to the final and win. I'm also not saying that FIFA aren't unscrupulous, but on this matter I doubt that they are.
