Sorry if this is reposting stuff thats already been said (i havnt been posting recently due to crap internet connection), but its getting on my tits.
All referees at this tournament want shooting!... FIFA have ruined the cup by giving already self-righteous referees even more licence to hear the sound of their whistle. Four red cards in one game (Portugal Vs Dutch), refs losing track of who they have cautioned because of the amount they have dished out (Prat Poll). Also the inconsistancy of why they caution players is pissing me off, just now Gyan was sent off for a second yellow against Brazil for diving... Yet the Italians get a penalty in the last minute. 25 red cards have been given upto this point (end of Bra vs Gha game) and the previous record was 1998, which was 22 (i think). I love to watch football, but when referees are blowing their whistle every damn minute i just cant be arsed. FIFA needs to reshuffle its ranks badly. Bring back the old-skool refs before people really do get sick of this shit.

Oops, sorry about that...I though I was a World Cup ref!
Yeah, the officiating is farcical. I understand that we have to factor in human error etc but this is just well beyond that. It almost seems like there's a card quota....3 per match or you don't get paid.

to be honest i think the referee in the portugal-holland game did ok....please hear me out....the game was full of cheats..players falling over, head butting etc etc
i mean what more can a ref do? if its second cautionable offence....and he has already been booked,,,,should he let him off for the sake of the game??? NO,,,,he should send him off....its a lose-lose situation for referees.....from the ones in the world cup to those like me who ref on a sunday morning...we cant seem to do anything right....
the cards wouldnt have come out if the two teams wernt full of cheating bastards

yes but its not just that one game, a record amount of red and yellow cards have already been dished out, before the second round had even finished. Also, the reason the players feel the need to cheat and dive, is because they know they can get something out of it. They know the referees are likely to give a card and a free kick for anything resembling contact. If i wanted to watch a non-contact pussy sport id choose basketball, which i think crouch is more suited to

Then it's simple TV evidence should be used and the FA, UEFA or FIFA can ban the culprits like HENRY who blatantly cheat. Stick with the refs decision whatever it is at the time but punish players who try to cheat. FIGO should be handed at least a one match ban for his headbutt. #redcard# HENRY should be handed another ban for blatantly trying to deceive the referee becuase thats CHEATING #redcard# It will deter players from doing so if they know they will be punished. yes but its not just that one game, a record amount of red and yellow cards have already been dished out, before the second round had even finished. The refs are being used as scapegoats for the childish and cheating behaviour of the players. It's like the refs are expected to be baby sitters for them as well now. It would help if commentators etc would stop with the 'now he's given a yellow card he has to be inflexible with other challenges' and then later the same people are criticising the ref for being card happy. It comes down to a lack of responsibility on the part of the players and the coaches.

Was it Van Bommel who Figo butted? he should be banned as well for his over-reaction to the little coming together of foreheads. They behave like bloody wimps and don't feel embarrassed by the fact.

Ive seen 3 or 4 needless yellows but bar that I think the refs have been quite strict but are only following the letters of the law. It's the MAJOR tournament in World Football why the fook are players diving & cheating It's a spectacle and should be remembered for the right reasons. to be honest i think the referee in the portugal-holland game did ok....please hear me out....the game was full of cheats..players falling over, head butting etc etc i mean what more can a ref do? if its second cautionable offence....and he has already been booked,,,,should he let him off for the sake of the game??? well tv eveidence/....i could go on all day with the pros and cons....
back to why figo didnt get a ban...he cant...its quite simple....governing bodies are only alowed to interven on disciplenary matters if the referee hasnt handled with it....he did handle the figo case, by booking him.....he couldnt have sent him off because he didnt see it...he knew however that figo made contact, but thnaks to van bommels reaction he assumed it was minor, as that previously every player had been making meals of the slightest of touches.....again, the referee cant win.
tv evidence tho, its interesting, but in some casses it just isnt practicle to use....it isnt, and we have to accept that....it can be used in incidences where the ball crossed trhe line (or not) but for off the ball incidents and son on, it is totally inpracticle for it to be used in the game....only after, which currently it is....but as i said, if the ref delat wwith it, governing bodies cant intervene

He booked Figo for the tackle apparently he didn't see the head butt so didn't act up on it therefore TV replays AFTER the game can clearly see FIGO ASSAULT the Dutch player. As for Henry he CHEATED the referee, Referee didn't know he was CHEATED so couldn't act up on it. TV replays CLEARLY show HENRY CHEATED the referee and therefore should dealt with accordingly. BAN THE CHEATS #unitedbanner# well tv eveidence/....i could go on all day with the pros and cons.... back to why figo didnt get a ban...he cant...its quite simple....governing bodies are only alowed to interven on disciplenary matters if the referee hasnt handled with it....he did handle the figo case, by booking him.....he couldnt have sent him off because he didnt see it...he knew however that figo made contact, but thnaks to van bommels reaction he assumed it was minor, as that previously every player had been making meals of the slightest of touches.....again, the referee cant win. tv evidence tho, its interesting, but in some casses it just isnt practicle to use....it isnt, and we have to accept that....it can be used in incidences where the ball crossed trhe line (or not) but for off the ball incidents and son on, it is totally inpracticle for it to be used in the game....only after, which currently it is....but as i said, if the ref delat wwith it, governing bodies cant intervene

The thing I found amusing was that in the Portugal Holland game, after Deco and Van Bronckhorst had both been sent off, they were sitting next to eachother talking and laughing at the ref. I think thats how ridiculous the match was, I mean 2 players on opposite teams fighting for the World Cup quarter fnals were chilling together.
