Someone elsewhere said that to me yesterday and they gave up after 3 or 4 - got a second series Just couldn't get into it, and Sean Astin pisses me off It's not bad and every time I see Astin I have to say "taters!"

Watching One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975). One of Jack Nicholson's better film's. Probably THE best IMO Chinatown.

The Strain turned out to be pretty good especially after the vampire/zombie apocalypse hit and the back story of The Master kicks in a bit more Back to a few films tomorrow - got the sequel to The Woman In Black to watch and luckily the Hairy Pooper kid isn't gurning about in this one

Watching a Steven Seagal film, Above the Law. Not bad but two of his better ones was Under Siege and Under Siege (2)-Dark Territory.

The only one I really like of his was The Glimmer Man Just been thinking (it's rare ) - there seems to be a lot of survivalist TV series recently (The Strain, Walking Dead, Revolution, Falling Skies and a few more) - a lot of people think we're being prepared for something through TV "fiction" - maybe they are right

Seen that ages ago and have read the book by George Dawes Green.

Today I watched The Departed (great film) and The Last Samurai. Two great films them. I loved The Last Samurai which was based on the book Shogun by James Clevell which I have read. They made a mini series of Shogun starring Richard Chamberlin as Blackmore. If you have never read the book Shogun then you should read it. A good book.

Couple of great documentaries called Kubrick's Odyssey part 1 and part 2
Part one is based on the supposition that it was Kubrick who was hired by NASA and the US government to fake the 1969 moon landing (and provides pretty decent evidence to support that) then the hidden meanings in The Shining that Kubrick used to secretly confess his part in the great deception (which explains the huge difference between the King book and the film)
Part two is the significance of the film 2001 and the theory that it is the greatest work of art in history and that the meaning of it is tied to mysticism and the Kabbalah
Both parts excellent IMO - there is another documentary called Room 237 about the hidden meanings in The Shining (which draws different conclusions) but the Kubrick one is by far the most interesting

Going to watch Cemetery Junction later. Ricky Gervais. It's about 1970s in Reading - the exact part of Reading where I live.
