Watched 9 episodes of the doc series (17 more to go) Just watched a Brit thriller with Jimmy Hanley called Radio Cab Murder and now an old George Raft flick called Race Street I've had The Theory Of Everything to watch for a couple of weeks but don't want to jinx young Eddie for the Oscar - I'll watch it tomorrow after he's sewn it up Bloody hell, George Raft. Have not watched one of his films for yonks. Raft, Cagney, Bogart, them 3 made some great gangster movies. Watching all these old crime and Film Noir flicks you rediscover old favourites like Cagney, Bogey, Edward G and Raft but also discover new favourites like Lawrence Tierney and John Garfield

Top Gear in an hour on BBC2 I attended a dinner in London for Chris Bonnington and for James May to receive his doctorate. He didn't surprise anyone with his drunkeness, rudeness and sexism - the waiters inferred he was a regular and always in the same condition. I thought it was a shame for his fans who asked for autographs and received drunken slurs. He eventually staggered outside to smoke a fag. I guess that's the panache of Top Gear at its best.

Watching early morning BBC News. Only up early as I will be taking our grandson to school. Daughter not feeling well so me & the wife got a "Help" message from the daughter last night so daddy said he would do the school run as the weather outside is wet, cold & windy with some snow showers. The wife hates the cold so she can keep herself warm in here. News is all about the Oscar awards last night, or early hours this morning. Did not even know the awards were around already.

HM the Queen found out about this and went there and faced May. Got into a scrap and kicked the you know what out of him. She has been charged with assault but she now knows the truth and he WILL NOT be on her honours list and be knighted!!!!

Will you stop ruining stuff for people Sorry chaps but it was pretty sad. However, there was an amusing aside to the story. I actually got him to autograph two menu cards including signing with his doctorate title for mates of mine who are avid Top Gear fans. The first attempt he thought the pen was out of ink half way through so he flipped the card over and tried again. Get it, he didn't try to make the pen work to complete what he'd started! The second time he scribbled on the back before turning it over and going again. This time he made it to three quarters of the autograph greeting. Then he mumbled that the pen was running on empty, but then completed it. His mumbling never bothered me for a minute but others were put off from approaching him. The lads have assured me when they next go on the show they will confront him with the cards in front of Clarkson - you might want to watch out for that.

Watching Stephen Hawkings Universe - Time Travel. I saw that listed on one of those "free sites" a couple of days ago and debated getting it Hawking is a bloody genius but that electronic voice is a bit creepy to me I'll have to grab it - I do love time travel I'd go back to 58 and kick that pilot in the nuts before he tries taking off EDIT: - grabbed it - didn't realise it was 6x1hour - that will keep me busy for a couple of days
