Cliffhanger with Stallone now the voice has finished. John Lithgow plays a great bad guy in that.

Just finished House of Cards season 3, won't post anything about it just yet as not been out long. But 100% worth a watch, quality programme. Also watching Orange is the new black, which is surprisingly good.

The last two days I have been watching or listening to a couple of guys build a model aircraft on You Tube. After 40 odd years I have decided to build a large scale model. I used to build little Airfix kits and I have just invested in a large scale Tamiya kit with all the paints, tools and equipment. A mate gave me a load of smaller kits to try out and now I'm in training for the big one. The You Tube progs, of which there are literally hundreds, indicate 6-12 months to completion.

Used to love doing the Airfix kits when I was a kid - mostly planes and ships but did do a huge Apollo rocket Spent all my pocket money on them so they were around 50p to £2 depending on size I suppose the glue and the paints will be different now - you could probably get very high on them

I made up Tanks, Ships, Planes the lot then get the packs of the military soldiers, English, American, German etc and paint the whole lot. My bedroom was full of them. I would hang the planes from the bedroom ceiling with cotton thread. Good memories them days.

Watching a documentary, Alcatraz - Defying the Rock. Its about Frank Lee Morris who escaped from Alcatraz in June 1962. They never found his body or him if alive so he still is classed as missing. The doc's going through all the escape routine etc. Seen the film with Clint Eastwood. Edit: Not just about Morris watching it but about other prisoners also that tried to escape.

The Tamiya kit is a 1/48 Lancaster Bomber Mk BIII at £110. Each pot of paint £3.50, glue jar £4.50 and fillers £6. The paints are acrylic so almost odourless. The glues are strange, there is no high from them that I can tell but the smell is horrible. Royal Mail won't post Tamiya green top glue because of its content but have not noticed any buzz. I am using a friends unwanted kits from the 80s to practice on - they were marked at 75p!
