To mark the 1st anniversary of the forum, we ran a competition to celebrate.
The entries we had were all of a high standard, and I want to thank everyone who took part.
First I will start by announcing the Runners Up, before announcing the winners. All Runners Up will receive a "Rooney Is My Homeboy" badge
Manchester United Number One
Bolton thought they could come to O.T.
And go home happy with a point or three,
Fergie thought to have another game on his mind,
That FA Cup replay in two days time,
But half past twelve and the team sheet was in,
Then the tears rolled down Big Sam’s chin,
Rooney and Ronaldo, Fergie wants to win it,
Not forgetting Neville, Rio and Vidic,
90 minutes later and the game was won,
4 great goals and a job well done,
Park and Rooney each with a double,
Chelsea’s title defence severely in trouble,
So come on Mourinho, wave that white flag,
United greater than Chelsea, that’s not a brag,
The league table explains it, it’s full of proof,
Manchester United number one, that’s the truth.

The Forum Of Dreams
When Republik of Mancunia was released to the world in May 2006 by the great Scott The Red, I'm sure he never believed the success of it could be this great and at a point where we currently (at the point of writing) have 1,225 members. We are still growing and have many ideas in the pipelines to improve this place and make it even better than it already is.
When the forum was opened Manchester United were at a point in the season where we had nothing going for us, second in the league, out of the group stages in the Champions League, knocked out of the FA Cup by fierce rivals Liverpool and having the "bonus" of winning the Carling Cup - something that came with Ruud Van Nistelrooy, United legend, being on the verge of leaving the club. It seemed the floodgates would open and dramatic exits would be seen; Ruud would leave, Fergie would be sacked after a shite season and whoever else was in the firing line.
The floodgates were also opening at ROM too, with members joining steadily and the forum beginning to pick up pace. With the World Cup in Germany on the horizon as well as many looking to vent their frustration at the season gone by, Rooney's metatarsal, possible transfer targets and saying their last goodbyes to Ruud van Nistelrooy - I'm sure if you look through the ROM archive you'd find many a post where there were fans giving United no hope for the season coming ahead.
The World Cup came and went with Italy being crowned World Champions 2006 this though was overshadowed by England's departure and two players catching the lions share of the headlines. Those two players of course were Manchester United's very own Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo was being blamed for getting Wayne Rooney sent off, was being blamed for England's departure and by the sounds coming from Germany, Spain and the English media he was on his way to Real Madrid.
Let's be honest some people were on here slating the boy, saying he must go and his time at United was over..there were a few though, like myself, who stood by him. We'd seen it all before with England & United being blamed for their complete and utter shiteness. Is that a word?
In the meantime, ROM was thriving. World Cup Fever had touched down and with great mods like Scott himself, 7even (the now departed), Miss United and later on in that time Red Yank coming together to make this place THE place to be. The members were rolling in and with the end of the World Cup, United's season was on the horizon.
Michael Carrick and Tomas Kuszczak were signed by United, many slated the decisions not to bring in more players and many questioned whether Fergie had lost his knack in the transfer market or whether the Glazers & Gill had some hidden agenda to keep hold of the purse strings.
Cristiano Ronaldo remained at United, the rumours didn't stop though, and United were ready for the new season.
Predictions rolled in from the media as; 4th position in the league and not a hope in the cups as Rafa Benitez and Arsene Wenger had built teams which would knock us down the line and challenge José Mourinho's Chelsea.
Many fans doubted whether we'd do anything too, many on the board were the face of misery. My Predictions suggested otherwise and I had faith in this side, no matter what anybody said. I had faith in them and Fergie.
The forum continued to blossom, United began the season well and the season progressed nicely. More people were signing up to join ROM and Red Yank was promoted to a moderating position.
The feel good factor had reached United fans around the globe and it was shown in the posts being made on the forum, it sounds cheesy but there's a family feeling around this place. People come in and are welcomed by a posse of our regulars and with the addition of Prediction & Fantasy leagues, Graphics Board, Review Board and the up and coming Yearly Awards, the Red machine was rolling along both on the pitch and online.
The Awards were a success and Manchester United were continuing to be a success on the pitch, building a team which seemed to be destructing the Russians of London and was rivalling the success of Double winning teams gone by and dare we say it the Treble winning '99 side.
As it stands, the forum is still growing - not a WUM insight, more plans are on the way and the Republik of Mancunia Anniversary will come at a time when Scott will surely be sitting back and marvelling at the great forum he has made.
I'm proud to be part of the staff here, even if it's in a very small role compared to Scott, Jorge & Sil and I'm proud to see this place come such a long way in such a short time. We're still growing though and so are Manchester United Football Club.
We're back on the big time; top of the league, FA Cup finallists, last four in Europe and playing some of the best football in the world courtesy of some of the best players in the world.
Republik of Mancunia have seen the football club we love come a long way in the year of existance and who knows this time next season we could be in the same position or possibly coming to the end of a poor season again.
Football's a funny old game and one things for sure, as the years go by and the forum grows older this forum will continue to grow because Manchester United create such a buzz, such drama and to some are a way of life. People always want to talk about United and that is why we'll continue to grow - that's not the only thing though ROM provides some of the best members, best moderators and best entertainment around.
Old Trafford was named The Theatre of Dreams by Bobby Charlton and although I'm not as legendary as him, I'm going to give this place a similar name..."THE FORUM OF DREAMS".

Masters of Score
Come you masters of score
You that score all the goals
You that build from defence
You that make all the runs
You that provide the key pass
You that do as we ask
I just want to make sure you are up to the task
You that run on that pitch
Like it’s your pride and joy
You play with that ball
Like it’s your little toy
The red drug’s in my head
And in front of my eyes
But it’s all down to you when you boys cross that line
Like United of old
You pass and receive
A football war can be won
You make us all believe
And we see through your eyes
Through the Manchester rain
Like we see our rivals chances run clear down the drain
You ready to pull triggers
For strikers to fire
We sit back and watch
While the scoreboard counts higher
You may live in your mansions
While we wish that we could
But for that ninety minutes Man U’s in your blood
You’ve thrown the worst season
That could ever be hurled
To fear to bring children
Into a trophy less world
But success is upon us
Many chances to reign
And you all worth the red that runs in your veins
How much do I know
To talk out of turn?
You might say that I’m young
You might say I’m unlearned
But there’s one thing I know
Fans are old and they’re new
Every time that they follow, their dreams lie in you
Let me ask you one question
I know your money’s that good
And it will buy you anything
And it probably should
But I think you will find
When the team’s on a roll
It’s not the money you make but the team in your soul
So let’s hope you and I
That the trophys come soon
I will follow your season
On a rainy afternoon
And I’ll see the trophy lifted
It’ll imprint in my head
And I’ll sit and admire the team in the Red.
