The world championships are always a bit dull as most country's best players are playing in the NHL playoffs. Having said that, come on Canada! As for Sweden, their best player (Alfredsson) is playing for my beloved Senators.  |

Canada won 4-2 fairly easy win but the finns managed to score a couple in the final period

Yep no one really gave us a game in the entire tournament. But the big one is the Olympics...hopefully we can bring the gold back home in 2010 on home ice. |

I'd liked to have seen a stronger Russian team. Victory, you must be pretty happy about the Sens this year? 2-0 up against the Sabres as well. Oh yes I am! Blew the lead with 6 seconds left last night...then won in double overtime. Was a huge relief when the goal went in, but that's hockey! It's actually my joint favourite sport along with football, and with United winning the title, if the Senators can do the same, it will just be amazing. ;D Anyway I digress though, Russia did have some great players like Ovechkin, Kovalchuk, Malkin and Gonchar, but you will always have teams missing their best players due to the time of the year the event is held in. |
