Gonna claim a bit of the glory here because of her Romanian father. You're welcome, lads!

She was sensational yesterday. Bit of a nervy first couple of games then never looked back. And this against someone 6 years older and herself a good young talent, recently winning gold at the Olympics!
Usually a little cautious about getting too overexcited but it's really hard not to with her. Looks a special talent.

In case you’ve missed it, for anyone in UK without access to Amazon, Channel 4 are broadcasting the final live tonight from 8:00pm after doing a deal with Amazon. Can’t wait. First ever qualifier in the history of tennis to get to a slam final could achieve another first later tonight!

Wins in just her 2nd grand slam without dropping a set. What a fucking superstar she is. So cool and calm as well.

The undisputed GOAT - Rafael Nadal. Easily disputed, but each to their own.

The undisputed GOAT - Rafael Nadal. Easily disputed, but each to their own. 21 slams. Nobody else has more. Ergo, undisputed.

Easily disputed, but each to their own. 21 slams. Nobody else has more. Ergo, undisputed. That's not how it goes. Most successful doesn't simply equal greatest. Rafa has a case to be the greatest absolutely, but to try and dismiss Roger, Novak, Borg or Laver (my personal top 5) is pretty short sighted. Take the French out of it and Rafa's numbers drop sharply. To be the greatest ever you need to be literally, the greatest ever, not the greatest ever as long as 90% of my matches are played on clay. You play on 3 surfaces in tennis, not 1. On hard courts and grass Roger has 19 slams, Novak 18, and Rafa 8. So on 2/3rds of the surfaces Rafa is no where near the greatest.

Sorry mate, and I mean no offense when I say this but that's some scouse logic. 😂 It doesn't matter how, where, when. It matters that it is. Manchester United is the greatest football club ever to grace England because we have 20. Nobody cares which era we won it, how many years ago, etc. Scousers will tally their champions league trophies and use that to lay claim to the mantle but the number is 20 and we have it. Same way, taking away a particular slam is doing a disservice to the numbers and to the guy. This man couldn't walk without crutches two months ago. This victory is testament to his longevity, class and talent. That Federer is old, Novak is brainless and the new generation simply not good enough, is not his fault. I also am not at all downplaying the achievements of the others. In fact, I am almost certain if Novak had played he'd have won this tournament, and I'd have no qualms calling him the greatest ever. At some point the numbers become important to cut through the chatter and debate to separate one from the rest and this is Rafa's moment. My humble two cents.

Except all eras of football have been played on the same grass rectangle. If clay didn't exist Nadal wouldn't be in the discussion.
