Tri Nations about to kick off with South Africa v Australia. Should be some useful pointers towards the World Cup in September. The Springboks look the most likely challengers to NZ and they should have too much forward power for the Aussies today and in Habana have one of the most electrifying wingers in the game today.
South Africa: Montgomery; Willemse, Fourie, De Villiers, Pietersen; James, Pienaar; Steenkamp, Smit (capt), BJ Botha, Bakkies Botha, Matfield, Burger, Smith, Spies. Replacements: Gary Botha, Van der Linde, Muller, Rossouw, Claassens, Olivier, Steyn.
Australia: Huxley; Mitchell, Mortlock (capt), Giteau, Tuqiri; Larkham, Gregan; Dunning, Moore, Shepherdson, Sharpe, Vickerman, Elsom, Smith, Palu. Replacements: Freier, Baxter, Chisholm, Hoiles, Waugh, Ashley-Cooper, Gerrard.

South Africa 22-19 Australia (FT)
The Springboks come from behind to nick it at the death with 2 Frans Steyn drop goals, the first of which was a super effort from the right touchline.
The Aussie's exceeded my expectations in how well they played but South Africa upped the pace in the second half. It should be a monumental clash next week against the All Blacks.

Good team the Springboks. Only team I see (apart from Munster ha) beating the All Blacks.

Good team the Springboks. Only team I see (apart from Munster ha) beating the All Blacks. Of course it takes an Irish side to beat them!

The second half of the Australia v New Zealand match encapsulated everything that is good about rugby. It is like no other sport I know. You can be losing for 3/4s of a game and end up winning!

I don't see anyone else but new zealand winning the world cup, If I'm being honest I can only see ireland as a real stumbling block. If new zealand don't do it this time someone will be shot in new zealand.

If new zealand don't do it this time someone will be shot in new zealand. Hopefully we'll provide that stumbling block in the final! In order for that to happen we'll need to beat France in France, which will be some achievement. Although we're due a break against Les Bleus and this is easily the best Irish Rugby team we've ever had. Can't wait!
