Women are vastly superior to you infidel males and are worth ten times the money.............shut up Carly ya bitch !!!! Seriously though - if women want equal pay then they should compete AGAINST the men. Sports like Tennis/Football/Rugby/Boxing they will have no chance so forget it. But golf/darts/bowls and other sports where they can compete on a level playing field why not ? Why should they get less when they are capable of whooping the guys ? They can't drive as far as the men in golf hactually. Plus golf and bowls are non sports. They're designed to get old timers outside when they should be happily rotting in a chair in front of the TV.

Women earning the same as men! you are joking, the worlds gone mad, its a well known fact that women have smaller brains, why should they get the same money as men when clearly we are superior in all things.

what sports stars get paid is really directly related to, as it should be, to how much money they bring in. If an athlete or team brings in loads of money in sponsorship and tickets, then they deserve more of that money. If they can't draw the crowds, they get less. Their job is about entertainment - even more than skill I think - and entertainment makes ungodly amounts of money which will have to go somewhere. It's not about men or women, its about what that person can draw in monetarily.
As for tennis, I'm not arsed, however let them both play the same number of sets and pay them accordingly. As for difficulty of training based on gender, I think you're talking out your arse if you think you know the intensity level of either men's or women's training for a tennis match. A better argurment than that is surely conceivable ai.

Lets pay womens footballers as much as men... fair enough in tennis but it really just means lining the pockets of the williams sisters and not much else, but I suppose at the minute the mens game is just making Federer more and more money. For tennis fair enough the womens game is about as high ranking as the mens and they train as hard to get there
Every year one of them seems to magically drop to loike 100th in the world just before Wimbledon I think it's mainly to try to get more money for serena/venus v a top seed before the final.

As for difficulty of training based on gender, I think you're talking out your arse if you think you know the intensity level of either men's or women's training for a tennis match. A better argurment than that is surely conceivable ai. Yup, I totally agree. To think that there is some justification behind the men being paid obscene amounts, but not the women, seems pretty ridiculous to me. 2005: "The disparity in prize money at Wimbledon demonstrates a paradox in the world of tennis. While the women’s game is attracting record attendance and TV ratings, and creating international superstars like Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova, women still win less money than the male contenders at the two European Grand Slams--Wimbledon and the French Open--and at most other tournaments. As for the other two slams, the U.S. Open has offered equal prize money since 1973, and the Australian Open since 2000...
... Meanwhile, ratings for women’s matches are on par with men’s matches and rising faster. For example, the men’s and women’s finals of this April’s Nasdaq 100 Open in Miami drew the same number of television viewers. But that represented a ratings increase of 50 percent over last year for the women’s match, and only a 25 percent increase over last year for the men’s final. Even a tape-delayed match between the Williams sisters, whose result had already been reported, attracted nearly 350,000 television viewers at past midnight Eastern time...
...Many of the top women players have much higher profiles--and endorsement checks--than players on the men’s side, with the exception of Andre Agassi. “The women’s side has more superstars who transcend the sport,” Fry said. “They’re recognizable around the world.” Serena Williams, perhaps the best example of a female tennis superstar, has earned not just titles on the court, but also tens of millions of dollars in endorsement deals from companies like Nike, McDonalds and Avon."and 2006: "Advocates of equal pay are fond of citing television ratings to buoy their argument. Yes, it's true last year's Venus Williams-Davenport Wimbledon final drew more viewers in the US than the Roger Federer and Andy Roddick championship match. More British TV viewers also chose to watch the women."The personal preference of some people on this forum may be towards the men's game. You may feel the men's game is more entertaining. But on a global scale, that is not reflected. If both men and the women are drawing in similar numbers, creating similar excitement, getting similar amounts of people interested in the sport, then why should this not be reflected in their pay packet?

Its not only preference its also proved that in some sports women are better than men and viceversa! if they both training at the same level and entertain people at the same level fine lets pay them in a equal way but it doesn't happen so many the time. Tell me just one sport where women are pay more than men! its pretty hard to find and its not nice cos im sure women probably put more of themself in an emotionally way. Just look at Gymnastic! women use to suffer of anorexia cos coaches say u need to be thin and light! but maybe they're not pay as much as men! its all about the sport u do and the kind of entertaing u offer i would never go to watch a football match played by women cos im sure it would not be same, same for tennis there are more men who offer beautiful games to watch than women playing more stets so why they should be pay as men?

i think men should be payed more, its just the way of life, and it is good for me as i am a man... haha i honestly cant see a big difference about this, yes at times you can see some difference in men and women paychecks but havent anyone even thought about that even women have more pay than some men? dont you get it...its simple...this is not communism!...
